Unfortunately this film was up against Titanic so it didn't stand a chance on winning the Oscar for best music. But I agree, this soundtrack is wonderful
This is the most iconic scene in the entire film. I saw the Broadway show version of ANASTASIA a few months ago and I got to warn all of you going to NYC to see it, the moment Anya enters in that Blue gown, the crowd goes wild.
@@eggsalad7404 No we're talking about Anya's Blue gown from the Ballet scene. The red dress was in NYC. That's in the finale when she becomes Anastasia.
@@CosmicPotato740 Yep Anastasia was created by former Disney animator Don Bluth, voiced by Meg Ryan and trademarked by 20th Century Fox Film Corporation (currently owned by Disney) because that's the only movie to be praised by Common Sense Media much to the popularity of teenage girls who have watched the entire film (as does The Princess Diaries)
@@harrypell2603 I love Aurora/Sleeping Beauty the most, she is very beautiful and graceful but not the one with the most interesting things about her unfortunately.
Although this is a good moment for Anya and Dimitri (I love his reaction to the first time seeing her in her dress, and I always LOL at her reaction to him checking her out, she's like "what?")But ... the BEST scene for me is the "Once Upon a December" fantasy ballroom scene.
That's pretty much the same take as the broadway production. The broadstrokes of the live action gown are the same but with enough finer details like silver chains and sapphire adornments. (Without going overboard) It takes what's already a great gown and makes it downright glorious. Honestly I truly prefer it to the red Court gown from the shows climax. Don't get me wrong that's a fine dress too, it just ends up feeling a bit lacking compared to what we got from the revised blue gown.
Anastasias physical appearance in this scene 1.Tall 2.Slender 3.Gorgeous 4.Stunningly beautiful 5.Elegant 6.Gorgeous strapless royal blue ballgown 7.Long white opera gloves 8.Silver sparkling earrings 9.Silver sparkling chocker necklace 10.Long beautiful auburn hair tied up in a bun with a Silver sparkling ponytail 11.Blue Heels 12.Blue eyes 13.Creamy white skin
I was so scared when I watched this movie as a kid, Rasputin was so scary to me 😂🤣 now when I watch it as an adult I'm like I can't believe this fool was scaring me. But one thing I never forgot was this gorgeous dress. She looks stunning 😍
The animation for this movie is POETIC CINEMA. Anya must one of the most beautiful females characters ever and yet, she's simple. And Dimitri, what is it with this guy that I find so freaking attractive? ❤️❤️ Not to mention the GORGEOUS score. Im in love with this film
omg the welling of score when dimitri looks at her at the top of the stairs! ugh no wonder this scene struck me so much as a kid. it still holds up. they just dont make animated movies with this kind of old hollywood magic anymore.
I think he liked her from the beginning, specially because they would bicker a lot, she spoke her mind and teased him too. There was too much sexual tension for a children's film. Not that I complain though 🤣🤣
This reminds me of that similar scene in Enchanted, but the dress here is stunning. Will we ever get a scene like this ever in movies anymore? The last time i have something breathtakingly beautiful was in cinderella live action 👏👏

For the ones who are searching desperately: This version it's called "Vladimir's realizacion" And this is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RdTUQti4BA8.html Enjoy and peace :-)
The dress I have for my uni school's formal isn't strapless like this, but it's 1920s style (so closer to the stage version) and I'm going full on Anya on the stairs at the Opera- I don't have a Dmitri to stun into silence, but one of my friends said she would play this song when I get to the landing of the first floor before we all go into the dance, because they've been around me long enough to all know I've been waiting 25 years to have this moment
To my fellow Anastasia fans looking for the soundtrack it’s called Vladimir’s realization by David Newman. Link below: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RdTUQti4BA8.html
@@flowers_in_soho6480 not really, bcos the scene for that soundtrack was when Vlad realized from Dimitri that Anya is the real Grand Duchess Anastasia.
Actually, *Titanic* premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival on November 1, 1997. The official Hollywood premiere was on December 14, 1997. The film then opened wide on December 19.
