I got my palette and I haven't experienced as much kick back or fall out. I also just dab my brush into the palette bc I know its pigmented, I don't dip into it like other palettes. So far I am obsessed with my palette.
First time watching your channel and i got the impression that you had already made your mind up about this pallette before you even opened it, you just seemed very doom and gloom like you couldn't even be bothered doing the review. All the other RU-vidrs i watch are really excited to try a brand new pallette, you recieved this in PR but don't seem to appreciate that. Being a beauty guru on RU-vid i don't understand how you didn't know ABH was releasing a new pallette, but yet you said there are swatches all over Instagram and social media so you must have knew. I don't think this was a great review. Also can't hear alot of what you said because of the music.

What’s up with this new trend that beauty influencers don’t want to do swatches. I mean, why do you think anyone would come to RU-vid to watch a review of a product they haven’t seen in person??!!! Unless you’re wearing all the shadows at once, swatches are a must! It doesn’t matter if the swatch doesn’t perform to perfection, the idea is also to see the actual colors. I really hope this trend goes away cause it’s really pointless to subscribers.
There are already swatches onkine all over youtube, instagram, and of course the ABH website. I guess most people just prefer cutting to the chase, which is the tutorial. You can only review how well a product performs by actually using it. Products can perform differntly on the eyes than they do on your wrist.
Nikki O - my point is reviews should contain swatches, independently that they could be available somewhere else. If I’m watching a particular review, why in the hell do I need to go and look for the swatches somewhere else??? Who is to say those other swatches on instagram aren’t shown with filters, specially the ones from the brand itself?? That doesn’t make any sense. I wouldn’t be in RU-vid looking for video reviews if I didn’t think the reviews are normally more realistic. Every youtuber or channel has different lighting and approaches to the makeup, and that’s helpful for subscribers, specially before going to the store to buy a product, but cutting off what actually makes a review a REVIEW is silly. A review should contain swatches, application, and opinions on the performance. If one of those is missing, it is an incomplete review. And let’s not forget, that every review used to show swatches until not long ago. No one was complaining about the swatches looking different on the arm than the eyes. This is a new annoying trend, and it probably came out from a lazy approach from some busy youtuber trying to cut off corners to save time. No ma’am. From now on, if i start watching a review and the youtuber neglects the swatches, I will stop the video immediately and find a different person. I don’t need an incomplete review and others shouldn’t either.
Florecita I totally understand what you mean. An incomplete review can be frustrating and it does seem to be more common now. In Wesley's defense though, I don't think he ever called this video a review.
Nikki O - I thought he did. I mean, it’s a new product and he is wearing it and talking about it. The only thing missing were the swatches. But it’s not just him. I’ve seen so many big youtubers do this lately, that’s becoming frustrating. I literally haven’t found the first video with the swatches of this palette, at least not with the youtubers I follow. And I’m interested in buying it. So I guess I’m gonna have to wait until it gets to sephora to play with it in person :-/
