Hey Jeff. Still have my pocket thru and pocket merge. Years ago, i contacted midi solutions, who are also in canada to ask if they were a progression of the original company. They said they werent. Just a coincidence. I remember paying about $300 for the thru box in the 90's. Stupidily expensive but an absolute essential purchace at that time. Still use it in my studio today. Never failed. 🙌
I love MIDI! 🤗I spent 2-3 years using the sequencers of onboard devices and just clocking them together. But that whole time I was looking for a MIDI sequencer that could provide the features I needed. I finally settled on the Squarp Pyramid, which has two 5-pin DIN MIDI out, 1 in and USB MIDI. Each song can have up to 64 tracks and I am able to simultaneously drive 30 synths and drum machines with it, without problems. It has virtually all the features of these lil Anatek devices. I remember these devices in Ad's in my old Key Board Magazine. As soon as I saw the title of this video, I thought Pocket Merge, just jumped into my head with complete recall, weird... Nice video my man!!!Peace Out.
I can explain to you what FSK is, it's "Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle" (Voluntary Self-Control”) the equivalent to "Parental Advisory". (...just kidding)
I knew the Anatek crew back then. Barry Henderson and Dave Pettigrew. I also did business with them and they took a lot of my own money with no return on my investment out of my pocket. So much for a 'Christian' company. Currently, I have two Studio Merges, which, in my mind, are their most useful devices, as long as you don't clog the data stream with MIDI data. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
