It’s what I’ve been using for LGDs for years, very good and they will protect and fight coyotes and predators 😊❤

Nice video. An Anatolian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees pup may be my next dog. Our last dog of 15+ years was one with a little dobe mixed in as well.

Lucky you. I rescued a 14 month old Anatolian. She was 57 kg. A sweetheart through and through. Had little to no direction. 16 months on, we've come a long way with much further to go.

How do you scold her reprimand her
@francoisbouvier7861
@francoisbouvier7861 10 дней назад
@@JasonEverley I first try to get her attention. I've only had a regular collar. So a couple of tugs usually got her to stop a behavior I was trying to stop. Early on a loud assertive voice. That part didn't work. She reacts/listens to a quite voice. Still has to be firm, but loud doesn't work near as well.

@JasonEverley sure seems like it. We live amongst a wide range of wildlife. Deer,elk, coyote, bear, the odd cougar sign, along with smaller cats. She either hears or smells it with seeming ease. She's had one lesson, and that kept her from getting into more trouble. Hoping that age will help.

Thank You Jim for your informative video about this type of Dog breed the ANATOLIAN SHEPARD/GREAT PYRENEES Dog ! I was " Bestowed" a Female 18 month old of this breed. I have never known or heard about this type of Dog Breed . At 73 years old, I have 14 1/2 acres in the Wilderness in SW WASHINGTON State, so I have the room for this Dog to have her " Elbow Room" . I am still learning about this type of Dog and Thank the GOOD LORD, this Dog is an ANGEL !!! but I have to get used to working and training her as it has been 3 years since I have had a dog. Thank you for your comments. Remember, nice and even keeled. Livestock Guardians are built to be strong and independent in general. My first one was an Anatolian Shepherd as well. I now have two Karakachans that are working my property. Feel free to call if you have any questions. Good luck and God Bless!

We rescued the same mix when he was 18 months. He is very good on leash, with other dogs, people…. Just hates water, nail clippings are an absolute no and now I have a dirty dog with nails getting long. Mostly just on that extra toe. Help!

Same issue with Bella an Anatolian rescue. Splashes on her own, but no way she'll have a bath.

@@maryanngambino7608 very similar to Bella my Anatolian. We have two dogs that visit. She has been jealous of them. Yet she ventures to visit with the neighbor dogs and is well mannered.

Great Pyrenees are in reality a mix of Maremma with Anatolian to get a bigger dog. So mixing this again with Anatolian makes no sense...

You should just use basic learning theory terms such as positive reinforcement ,shaping and extinction.Explain punishment and learned helplessness. Teach the science and not twist it like it is your own training method.

He kept it simple, clear and didn’t fill it up with a faux intellectual word salad just to try impress (and probably bore) layman trainers.

@@jule3480 Learning theory is taught in college to teachers, psych majors and sociology majors. Terms are clearly defined therefore not word salad. Just because you don't know what something is don't call names. Horse and dog trainers often take basic learning theory and use different terms or a different slant to their method in effort to obtain a marketable brand. You have to understand the basic principle of anything cooking ,engines ,how the human body works or you could make a dangerous mistake .

@@kathycarraher5014 You’re presuming that I am oblivious to all those things you referenced. The irony is everything you referenced was also from someone else who evolved terminology to put their own unique stamp on it. His target audience are people who appreciate clear, uncomplicated advice on training dogs. Grand Prix equestrian riders who also coach, use different ‘styles’ or terminology, ditto that with dog trainers from obedience, scent work all the way through to sheep or cattle dogs being trained for trials or farm work. They also adjust their classes depending upon their clients. That is why at local obedience schools that will use different language for beginners, medium, advanced and trial ready. Anyway, I will just say I have seen some people whose academic qualifications in both the equine and canine arenas that have been impressive on paper but that has never translated to success beyond that. Or as someone once said about a particularly pretentious equine instructor who talked a good game but failed when his bum was in the saddle.. “Just goes to show ya, some folks don’t know shit from clay”
