I've asked every intelligence analyst I've ever known about battle damage assessment. No one ever knows anything about it and now I know why. Thanks. This is the best school on the internet
Interesting times we live in, we don't target enemy combatants homes if there's women in children in them yet our police departments around the country kick in doors on no-knock warrants and toss flash bangs into homes with children in them.. Our priorities are seriously messed up.... Great job on the video S2
I want you to know.. You are my absolute Favorite online. MOST INFORMATIVE.. Most Productive BEST RESOURCE - Overall Superior. Listened while trimming multiple GhostNet manuals (for friends) Now off to laminating & seeing what else you have on tube or Patreon. Massive Respect Sir! from SWFL Keep the Grind
Are they CIA agents released to focus our attention on war stuff, instead of focusing on our bodies and graceful emotions of heavenly influences? Regardless of whos released them…the effects are legit
Hey i need to let you know that i used this video to help me prepare for a targeting class on my AT, using the manuals, examples, and other things you have given me, I was far far better prepared. Thank you entirely too much
It’s pretty wild hearing someone from the int community say that the US only has like a dozen drones available at any time and they need to manage resources.. I thought there were 1k-10k’s of drones globally with hundreds in the sky at any moment above a conflict zone. Still a very spooky weapon though. I would not want to have to worry about getting hit with a drone strike all the time that would be a huge constant mental drain.
Drones still have a logistics chain, not that dissimilar from any other strike or recon aircraft. The biggest difference is the operator is not inside the craft. Everything else still applies, sometimes in a smaller scale, sometimes not
An hour and a half long lesson on the anatomy of drone strike on a Sunday morning when I'm supposed to be in church? You're tempting me to break the fourth commandment, S2! (Lol, I can wait)
Good information! It struck me when you said that there are different rules and restrictions. The US is the only country that I know of that even follows strict rules and restrictions. All of our enemies laugh at this…but…it’s still necessary. I wonder how many strikes have ended up creating more enemy fighters than eliminating them. Keep up the great work. 🇺🇸👍
Another excellent video, I did this often for our S2 as an Apache pilot in Afghanistan when we didn't have anything specific to do just to have an excuse to fly. I would like to know the Underground's thoughts on the impact of AI analysis of the actual intelligence collected. For instance, having an autonomous sensor on an aerial asset that is constantly collecting on a database of POIs, then having that transmitted to a base station and finally analyzed by AI before an actual human ever enters this cycle.
“Not Shooting Neighbour/Kids Next Door” is actually a good rule to set for 😂. Anyway, drones array of 6 carrying smart missiles (with operators ofc) are more expensive than a raid team of 6 kicking doors *Per Op* . Machine learning and sensor improvement may help in the future. Door kickers are still first choice for city raid ops.
Wow, we have advanced a great deal; which is also a double edged sword considering the payloads of Drones. Case in point: just watch a vid here about the airborne/glider assault on Wessel Germany (Late March 1945). It began with carpet bombing of that city, and the subsequent landing of thousands of allied troops behind German lines. The destruction however was immense, with thousands of civilian casualties. Short form: If Armed drones are used against military targets, this would bring a new form of humanitarianism (sic) into warfare, but those same drones can be, and have been, used against civilians for political and terror purposes.
For every "REAPER" airborne over Afghanistan, there were at least 6-8 SUAS, like ScanEagle/Aerosonde/Arcturus airborne doing the heavy lifting. Once, something actionable was found, the big boys were called in to clean up.
Not an Intel officer, but I am good friends with about six *former* Intel officers. They're all solid guys, really wanted to do something bigger with their lives sort of thing, and tellingly... They all separated from the Air Force as soon as they could after their first assignment.
S2, thank you so much for this presentation! From the Intro to the Concluding Recap - very informative, interesting, yes, even surprising at times, and brought down to a level of comprehension to people who would be most mystified by this topic. From my very different, personal life-experiences ( 76 yr old great-grandma with 6 children, a couple of those, at least, who are of drafting age) I enjoyed your talk very much (a good brain-stretch, too) and hope you continue to have time and strength to continue the channel.
Bruh this vid is dank af bro people ask me about this shit all the time and i just shrug my shoulders and say idk man i just work here but now I can point them in this direction.😊
I was googling what a grintsum is because i thought it was an obscure Latin word. Turns out that Google's primary source about the definition of a grintsum comes from s2underground, fight in the shade.
this is a good video to think about when reading the msm coverage about the strikes in ukraine and palestine. i'd even guess this was prompted by the rafah strike, to give regular people more perspective. thanks as always
Thanks, Didn't think I was all that interested in the subject. Not having been in the military myself. It turned out to be very interesting. Thank You.
Hey S2, I have a suggestion for a follow up video. There is a set of protocols that the Institute for Defense Analysis developed delineating when the deployment of ordnance is justified on US soil. Deployment used to be out of the question unless an invasion by a foreign military force was underway. Ordnance bunkers and magazines are restricted otherwise for very good reason. And that limitation is why we saw guys like Marv Hemeyer and Shawn Nelson able to go on rampages without getting taken out quickly by the national guard, and why UNARMED ANG F-16 responded during 9/11. It's because they can't just retrieve ordnance from a secure bunker willy nilly, even if it's an emergency. Anyway I think it would make a cool topic, if any detailed information can be found on it. Maybe too spicy a topic heh.
😢I know we have to get permission to engage. The optics in the C-130 gunships is simply awesome. amazing. I used some at a console environment. Computer screen and could read a car license plate at 2 miles if it was stopped at the front gate. I could change cameras from the tower to closer cameras at gates and the door without a handle,I opened . The digital camera was on top of a cooling tower. It could see a long ways. They have better, I'm pretty sure. Better days are coming 🙏
Thanks! I left the military supporting the ops/collections side. It helps understand the things you think you know, but not really. Ops side was great compared to the the analyst side which was very political .
I have one kind request from you. I enjoy the new format but filming voice overs with a balaclava can slightly muffle the sound coming out. With such complex and honestly foreign topics to most of us. I would appreciate a focus on vocal clarity please. I think it will help us all understand slightly more in the long run. Long time subscriber and I really appreciate every single video you put out.
42:39 I mean if the schools been evacuated does it matter it’s just another building at that point?. Also I swear duel use also has a double meaning cause in more conventional fights duel use means things like bridges and power plants if I’m not mistaken?
I always thought the biggest threats to bots on the ground is the brass wearing the same flag. Thanks to S2, and others, I get to learn how true that is.
love that reading list and was wondering if you've read them all s2. some great essentials try adding dein bein phu by bernard fall as it definitely highlights the failings of the bureaucratic military
Because drones aren't meant to be dodging anti craft weaponry and the Yemeni "rebels" are actually the military but they aren't recognized as the legitimate government so they're called rebels.
If I tried to set it up would you appear on tucker Carlson's pod cast? I check the daily wire every day! I think the general public could benefit from you getting greater reach.
Actually remember a guy interviewing an alleged Air Force guy in a dynamic targeting cell during the air campaign against daesh. On vr chat as a penguin. He’s job was as the name implied moving targets. Like ei checkpoints, and earth moving equipment.
At one point, the military's purpose was to take lives and ask questions later....maybe we should go back to that instead of needing a lawyer before pulling the trigger on a target. Maybe we'll win wars again.
@tacticalmattfoley we need to go way back to only waring to Conquer land and rss or none at all. What do we really have to show for the last 70 years? A lot of wasted talent and blood and now they see fit to import the people we war with to keep up with population decline.
I met genuine psychopaths in the infantry. They couldn't advance past lower enlisted. He got out and got arrested for chopping some woman into pieces. Psychopaths can't really excel in organizations because what's turning off their empathy is also turning off their ability to long term plan. Psycopaths generally are poor, outside of society, and creepy. Theyre preying on prostitutes and other desperate women because they're available and easy to isolate. They aren't killing career women because that would be a ton of work to get them alone and then get rid of the body without immediately being picked up by the cops when her friends and coworkers haven't heard from her in 12 hours. This is even assuming he could get near her since without empathy its hard to fake a relationship and you will give off non-verbal red flags that will get picked up on by others.
@maxscott3349 that hasnt worked. The whole eastern block has been in conflict ever since. Our stabilizing wars have brought nothing but massive economic blow back. At least rome and brittan and france brought up the standard of morals and living wherever they went by imposing their will.
Sometimes a target is struck to get additional chatter going between other potential targets, some of it may be financial in nature, some of it may be a who knows who fact finding mission. 🇺🇸/👁️\🇷🇺
Can confirm the bias bit. I wasn't in the intel community, but every base I was ever stationed at there was always noticeable bias in favor of females and against males. Many such cases.
Funnily enough I was watching bad of land yesterday. Started off quite good, the ending I felt was a bit rushed and a few random things happened. But not a bad film. Edit: obviously it's not a real world text book film, before the hero's jump in.
Might be a stupid question but does s2 have a background in working in intelligence? Just curious how he makes such informative videos if he wasn’t involved with it
If he wanted to truly mask his identity he would obfuscate his voice and cover he’s eyes. Probably doesn’t want the public to be able to identify him and to deny any connection to the channel should something arise…(I’m guessing 🤷)
