Thank you for the very nice lecture about the anatomy of the choroid. Very helpful! 🙂 Please allow two comments. 1. Apart from the blood vessels, many melanocytes are present in the choroid, i.e. cells that are fully packed with melanosomes. Maybe you could mention them more explicitely? 2. At 24:20, you show a histology section and label the layers. In the layer you name "Layer of Rods and Cones", there are only the inner segments and outer segments of these photoreceptors. Both rods and cones stretch from the outer plexiform layer to the RPE. The outer nuclear layer are the nuclei of the photoreceptors (rods and cones).
How is it that the erythrocytes travel 5 times slower in the choriocapillaries when the blood flow in the choroid is fast, so much so that only around 2-3% of arterial oxygen leaves the arteries ??
