This was so illuminating! As a ballet dancer, I've always wanted to understand the anatomy of the hip and what the hip is doing when we turn out and extend our legs. This lesson helps a bit.
This is ur first video dat I came across with & I really enjoyed & understood wat u taught coz u made it look easy.. I will watch only ur video 4rm henceforth coz dis really helped me
the video amazed me a lot and it is well explained. During total hip replacement with an artificial hip, are the ligaments around the hip removed with the surgery itself?
It’s really good. Top 10 at least. Just you’re holding the pelvis bone right where I need to see it. If a next time, please hold it so we can see everything
I’ve recently had on and off pain in the area of my right hip. I can’t tell if it’s the hip joint or maybe more likely one of the ligaments surrounding the joint. The pain comes and goes. It’s most noticeable when I am sitting in the driver seat in the car. There are other times when I Am sitting (e.g. on couch) and feel no pain. Any idea what the issue could be?
Thank you for such a great video!! I am currently taking Kinesiology as a prerequisite for OT school and this is so helpful! (also I am a fellow wheelchair user with a SCI!) - Rosie
Could you make z video about pelvic floor and all exercises connected with PF? I'm a pilates and yoga instructor, I would really like to watch this kind of video. Plisssss;-))
Dr. Siebert, the lig inside the joint, aka Teres lig, (min 5:25) is round and gives a good windshield-wiper-like cleansing to the articular cartilage of the femoral head, with every motion of the joint . Don’t you think that that function remains for life? The Teres is really a weak ligament, and I can’t see any other function for it, in the adult.
Very informative. Thank you. I had a replacement of the hip and proximal (upper) femur 5 months ago due to Prostate Cancer and was getting a little frustrated how long it’s taking to heal. Now I understand how complex the surgery was!! I’m 73.
you creativity and passion of helping others learn is admirable! any student of yours is very fortunate! thank you for making all the material not only public but free! blessings for you and your family!
I ENJOY THAT I am x ray technologue in Morocco and interest in english language. I like study the anatomical elements with english. Really like the way you present this lesson. keep going,
Great posting, what is causing unlevel foot length, one side is short then other side, it happen after hip joint surgery, replacing the head and neck of the femur.
