Dr Adel Bondok Anatomy Teaching Videos. The video describes the anatomy of the large intestine. It covers the following objectives:
@ Parts of the large intestine
@ Length and position of each part.
@ Peritoneal covering.
@ Blood supply.
@ Nerve Supply
@ Lymph drainage
@ Radiological examination.
@ Targeted topics on each part.
DiDio and Anderson (1968) used the term ileal pylorus, which is anatomically correct, rather than the term ileocecal valve. They stated that the ileum opens into the transitional zone between the cecum and the ascending colon, thereby asserting that the name "ileocecal valve" does not have any anatomic meaning. However, for the sake of convenience, we will continue to call this anatomic entity the "ileocecal valve."
Kumar and Phillips (1987) stated that the superior and the inferior ileocecal folds are responsible for the competence of the ileocecal valve.
Bogers and Van Marck (1993) stated that "the ileocecal junction remains a controversial region of the gut." They stated in a review in 1993: "Based on the available data from the literature, evidence is accumulating for a sphincteric function."
@@ Finally, the purpose of the ileocecal valve is not definitely known. However: it has been reported that:
@ The valve plays little or no part in the prevention of reflux of cecal contents into the ileum (it was believed that it does).
@The circular muscle of the lower end of the ileum (called the ileocecal sphincter by physiologists) serves as a sphincter and controls the flow of contents from the ileum into the colon.
@ The smooth muscle tone is reflexly increased when the cecum is distended; the hormone gastrin produced by the stomach causes relaxation of the muscle tone.

Sir can you explains one question agar large intestine mai se 70 percent kam kiya to ander kitna percent bachta hai
@AdelBondok
@AdelBondok Год назад
The large intestine has 3 primary functions: 1. absorbing water and electrolytes, 2. producing and absorbing vitamins, 3. and forming and propelling feces toward the rectum for elimination. How much large intestine can you live without? People can live full lives without their large intestine. There are several diseases that may require removal of the entire large intestine: Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's colitis.
@AdelBondok
@AdelBondok Год назад
Most people can live without a stomach or large intestine, but it is harder to live without a small intestine. When all or most of the small intestine has to be removed or stops working, nutrients must be put directly into the blood stream (intravenous)

As to my practice the retrocecal position of appendix is 1 of 10 cases. Where data about 65% are taken from?
@AdelBondok
@AdelBondok 10 месяцев назад
Retrocecal appendices are found in 20 to 65 percent of anatomic dissections, according to autopsy studies by Collins [I-3], Wakeley [4] and DeGaris [5]. It is considered by many to be the most common location of the appendix.
@Yegorij
@Yegorij 10 месяцев назад
@@AdelBondok I'm readily believe in 20%, but 65% I sure related to some specific populations. Collins says about 69.0% free and 7.9% pelvic positions. Sanzida Khatun et al in 2019 give 35% but not 65% and it is the maximal rate I found. Other sources tell about 15-20%. Thank you
