I believe there is an error towards the end when she is explaining the order of tendons behind the medial malleolus. Tom in Tom, Dick, and Harry should stand for Tibialis Posterior rather than Tibialis Anterior.

Thank you very much for commenting. You are correct regarding error at 38.58. The T in Tom stands for tibialis posterior.

Hello Dr. Chandra. I´m from Germany and we use the latin nomenclature in our university. I don´t know if your students also need to know all structures in latin too or only in english. It would be very helpful when you also show the latin names. Btw we name dorsiflexion of the foot extension, but that fact doesn´t stop me watching your good videos.

Why isn't she wearing gloves when handling that cadaver? O_O

Because it's a plasticized cadaver.

+James Takahashi Cadavers are cleaner than living things. Microbes can't grow on them due to having been practically drenched in chemicals.

these anatomy videos need improving. whats the point of watching you look at the camera and describing the anatomy. it seems obvious that while you're explaining dorsiflexion and plantar flexion there should be a diagram, and one of the wrist as well since thats what you're comparing. Im so confused who thought it was a good idea to just film your face while you talk??
@dustinpeterson3477
@dustinpeterson3477 9 лет назад
Don't try to compare it to the wrist, it'll just confuse you. The wrist is just like everything else you know in terms of extension, pronation, supination etc. We use completely different terminology in the foot, no one will ever say extension of the foot. Not to mention you have to worry about CCK vs OCK in the foot, which totally changes what you;re talking about. dorsiflexion=point your toes upwards plantarflexion= point your toes downwards. adduction= toes towards the midline of the body, abbduction= toes away from midline. Inversion= tilt plantar side of foot inwards towards the midline. Eversion= tilt plantar side of foot away from midline. Combine the above terminology for pronation and supination in open chain kinetics of the foot.. PRO BED - pronation is abbduction, eversion, dorsiflexion of the foot. SUP DIP - supination is adduction, inversion, plantarflexion of the foot. In Close chain kinetics, this changes and you have to describe what the talus etc are doing individually to cause the pronation/supination of the foot, but I doubt you need to know that.
