Dr. Fink, firstly, I'd like to say thank you for your great work here. It helps a lot and is good step to take for a review before an exam. At 10:32, you said the most inner part of the brain is medulla or medulla oblongata. I agree with medulla, but about medulla obongata, I think it refers to a certain part of the brain stem. If I am wrong about this conception, could you help me understand this? thank you.

does anyone knows why the nephrons first let go out "good stuffs" only the recapture them after? is the explanation related to evolution? my guess is that glomerulus was maybe the first 'blood filter' to appear in organisms but was imperfect. still, natural selection might has allowed it to perpetuate because even through it expels "good stuffs" along with bad products, it's better to have this imperfect filter than no filter at all. at least, life threatening products were eliminated, a good point for natural selection. later, evolution may have added a recapture process to improve the system, keeping the primitive one because it's easier for evolution to add improvement than coming up with a whole new system... does that makes sense? I hope my question is clear enough, since english is not my mother tongue.
