@@stalkob6649 go through the rianvisa, play lithiel and win (or play against her and lose), then wait for the event chain (takes some 20 years iirc)

@@pukebeard6406 when you choose to stay as aelnar but lose the war to the pretender (you don't need to wait until they siege your capital, I'm pretty sure there's a unique peace treaty option) you just get a malus for the remainder of the rianvisa, -5% morale, -2.5% discipline and -5% goods produced, so it hurts your army and economy but it's not that bad, and as I said, it's honestly better than letting the AI take control of the country (though it stacks for each pretender you lose against, so it could get bad if you lose to all 5, which is why you should only concede to the leader you actually want to keep)

@@pukebeard6406 Right now Railskulker is the only one with flavour, Ves Undenklan is amazing economically and it's all about that siege ability, the final formable is a bit underwhelming, activates a disaster and has a bit of a weird colour but overall, goblins are very fun other than that it's also pretty nice to play the goblins in the Tree of Stone and form the Underkingdom to oppose the Command if you want a hard campaign with a clear goal, Greedy Grin has a decently nice MT to exploit (2 free capital moves if you go for Seghdir first and a bunch of free money, dev and colonists) Other than that I've heard from the devs that it's eventually planned to add flavour for the goblins in the Deepwoods, changing their culture just like with the Emerald Orc formable, restoring the rightful, fey-appointed rulers, but it's not even on the horizon rn as it's not their priority

Yea, I guess my point was that they are proper nations, not primitives that can be pushed that easilly into the sea.

Well, I don't have to colonize in other parts. With full exploration ideas, you are free to claim any province in a colonial region via spy network. And so you can claim the lands of anyone else who spawns there, or of the tribes. I kill the spawners fast, before they spread their wrong culture and religion too much. :D

Ah I see, I was being incorrect about a mechanic - by taking tribal lands but not full annexing, you can own a large part of Noruinn without focusing on Ellaiande Islands much

@@pukebeard6406careful though, those adventurer spawns sometimes (not all of them though) can spawn with 30+ troops, its REALLY strong, and sometimes like 5 or 6 will spawn within a few years and all dec on your colonials (thinking you wont join), so you HAVE to enforce peace to join the war, this TANKS your manpower and is actually one of the possible ways of just getting screwed over. not too bad to recover from in SP, but in MP this ruins you, as lorent WILL attack you and just full annex you (colonial land costs 0 warscore) if he thinks your weak + wont form aelnar fast enough that said all of the adventurers have a specific *area* they can spawn in, and if thats colonized/owned by you they simply wont spawn..... the one that spawns in bloodgrove MUST have a free coastal province in bloodgrove to spawn, the deranne company must spawn either in the little 3 islands to the east of bloodgrove, or the island just below it, the CNTTL or whatever company spawns in the south west island chain in the broken isles, myx spawns in the middle islands, and the dwarven company spawns in the 2 province island to the west of the qualtho city (the one you gotta find as venail for your mission) .... grab these quick and they just wont spawn..... the other noruin adventurers have a LOT of land they can spawn though so arent worth trying to stop, but those are also the weaker ones so its fine (you definately want to stop the bloodgrove one, they WILL declare on your colonial nonstop, they simply dont care, they spawn with 33k troops afterall)

@@HierophanticRose also yea thats a good tip, you can take tribal unsettled land in peace deals, but keep in mind you cannot full annex or else you ONLY get their settled land, but you can do a sneaky and have the only province they keep be an unsettled province, this will make them vanish (and any armies left over delete as well, rather than form a rebel army) and you still keep the unsettled land, very quick expansion while deleting them so no worries about waiting for a truce, the western noruin tribes have unsettled land ALL OVER, you can literally conquer everything in west noruin in 2-3 wars, but the rebels and coring will be a pain, but hey, atleast your colony does the coring, you just worry about rebels actually the leechmen tribes are also doable with this

I used self governing in the few runs, then I read this thread: www.reddit.com/r/Anbennar/comments/paoxjq/elf_colonial_nations_which_is_fastest_early_on/ Seems like it's mathematically better and it did feel stronger too during gameplay. That's why I said that. I might have been too strong with the wording. I'm not a speed-gamer or power player so in the end, options are options and it doesn't matter THAT much. :D

the self gov colony is faster, but not to the point that it justifies the extra cost imo, you'll have to pay for the colonists yourself either through subsidies or by paying vassal debt, and imo that money would be better spent either putting buildings on aelantir or hiring advisors to stay ahead on tech/ideas, after all, land you don't colonize is just land you'll conquer later

On paper this is true, in practice you end with bankrupt colonies that flounder completely

@@caementicium284 if you give them the policies for tax and trade power and get them to a decent size they become self sufficiant pretty quickly before their debt becomes an issue and they aren't there to stay anyway so who cares how much debt they have when you click the button
