We'll, this is a nice way to end my evening. Bloody brilliant lad. My vote is with the RG35XXH . My rational is the horizontal form factor along with the updated SOC and quality of life features.
RG35XX H has more power and for less price than the Miyoo Mini Plus. The RG35XX H for the price it has now, it’s a beast! I love it with Batocera and I still love my transparent blue Miyoo Mini V2 with the grip case, classic! We also love you VladNerd hehe
Great video! RG35XX H is my most recommended starter handheld. Anbernic software just keeps getting better, too. Im also kinda crazy and prefer my R36S as my main handheld over the Miyoo Mini Plus. 🤷
@@JaviPlayRetro I've heard that the RG35XX Plus and H have RTC issues and it runs faster than it should. Did you notice any such issue? I'm also looking into these devices, but for Pokemon the RTC thing could be an issue.
And now I got the Black and the White. Love the color buttons and both have the red and black MM+ cases along with black and beige silicon covers. I'm a big fan. Onion OS is the way. (I also have the 35XX H in my collection).
Different form factor, it’s strange to compare them. And unfortunately, the joysticks on the anbernik are bad, with a large dead zone and binding to only 8 directions...
Anbernic broke my heart with the 351p. It disappointed my with light bleed and the screen broke after a month of light play. Didn’t even put 10 hours into that thing. My mm+ has a harder to press L2, but I forgive it. The thing has over 100+ hours logged on it and has survived getting dropped and in my jean pockets.
I agree the xx H has a lot of potential, but I am willing to argue that it is not an "amazing" first devices. You kind of hit on that point towards the end of the video: "If you only buy one device (unlike 90% or more of the community) get a MM". My stance is similar, I think the MM should be everyone's FIRST retro handheld device. Then you can branch off from there.
Your videos are awesome. I have subscribed and am now worthy of the nerd-love you provide. I have a couple of mm+'s and MANY other handhelds. I love them, but really, you're right. I bought my first rg35xx h a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I've pretty much been playing it exclusively. It checks all the boxes with Batocera, size, weight, screen, chipset... I know it will probably have Garlic on it soon too. I paid $43 (couple coupons involved) for it. A truly ridiculous deal. We live in amazing times. So many good games, so many good videos about them. Keep it up. Im hooked 👍
I love my RG35XXH and every update that unlocks more features. Have to admit I've been eyeing up the Miyoo Mini Plus and Trimui Smart Pro to add to my collection.
Miyoo mini plus. Because I want a smaller handheld that is pocketable to play on the go games. If I want more power.. I already have better options. Most peoples phones can play psp and ps2 just fine.
Yeah. And nevertheless most peoples phones have another job to do, most of the time. Tbh some years ago I was one of the "I'm rocking the x3pro with the Gamesir and it's better than any console"-guys. But then a used PSP changed my mind, and I went on to buy an OG Vita, an Odin lite and finally an Odin2max. Each of these teached me how far better it is to play on dedicated gaming handhelds. Admitted, recent phones can game perfectly. Still, when I have to buy a new phone I go for a device with a strong snapdragon. My actual phone is far stronger than all-but-one of my handhelds. Do I ever use it for gaming? No. 🤷
I bought the RG35XX H for 50 Euro as a budget handheld to accompany me as an EDC item. But then I got the RG353V for 68 Euro and it has better controls and more power and Rocknix...
I play my vanilla RG35XX with Garlic 1.4.9 on a daily basis (it is superior to the MM+ - don't care what anyone says) and I treat my new cheaply acquired H as something that has a lot of potential, by keeping it unopened in a drawer untill it gets some mature, stable CFW. Don't want to install, re-install, customize things 20 times like some RH youtuber 🙃
Hey Vlad love the content man keep it coming! Just out of curiosity, how much battery life do you get from your Miyoo Mini Plus? I’ve had one for a month or two now and been loving it other than the battery life. I get MAYBE 3 hrs out of it before it needs to charge. Sometimes closer to 2.5 hrs depending the game. And that’s with onion OS set up. It kinda works out okay since I can’t play a small device like that for more than 2 hrs before my hands and eyes need a break, but it’d be nice not to have to charge as often as I do. Is that normal for these devices or maybe I just got one with a kinda crappy battery?
Your battery seems to be a dud man, you should be getting around 5 hours! I recommend buying a backup from AliExpress (they're like 12$ if my memory serves me right).
@@VladNerd Damn that’s what I thought. The battery just seemed to be dying too fast especially just playing SNES and GBA games. I’ll check Ali Express, thanks man!
Ah good because I've just ordered the H and the powkiddy rgb 30 for the gameboy friendly screen.....held off on the mm.......too many consoles is not a good thing
Yeah, I agree. People should 100% not buy a lot of handhelds... ... Unless they do it from the links in my description, then it's somehow morally acceptable. 🥰
Couldn't have said it better. I've just been realizing how much I pick up the h over the mm+ lately. I think the biggest other selling point as the "if you only get one, get the h" is the hdmi out and bluetooth
Hearing the miyoo mini referred to as an OG when i first picked up an rs-97, an rg350, a pocket go.. when they first came out. Feels a bit weird. Like i am old in both real life and retro handheld gaming ?!?!
Nah, my beautiful nerd. You're the greatest of us all. You're one of the pioneers that helped this segment grow, that lit the first spark and encouraged the first companies making rerto handhelds to realize that there's a market for this. We owe the current state of handhelds to people like this. Unironically, if we were a nation of nerds, you'd have a big statue built of you right in our capital, not dissimilar to what the Greeks have for their historical figures. To commemorate our humble beginnings from the efforts of a few, brave men (or women). So yeah... you're old, but in a good way. ❤️
Damn, I'm right there with you. I still play on an orange/black rg350 that I JUST flashed adam image to yesterday and I realized how far the communiry has come and the companies have gone since then. I'm kinda thinking of getting the MM+ for the best dpad and out of the box experience and not wanting to play more than SNES, NES, GB/GBC/GBA.
I subscribed and now have long flowing golden hair that flows in a sweet summer mountain breeze. I can't explain it, it just happened. Also Miyoo Mini plus >>>>
I have both the Miyoo Mini Plus and the OG RG35XX and I'll think about selling the RG35XX. The funny thing is I bought the R36S for about half the price of the OG RG35xx...
Another perk of the RG35XX H (And +) is with Bluetooth, you can not only use external Remotes, but with the Batocera v40 OS, you can also use BT For Audio. So far, I have only been able to test with one headset, the Tozo HT2's, but it sounds and works fantastic. I believe the StockOS was also being worked on to get BT Audio as well but have not tested that yet to see if the latest update included it.
The fact that Anbernic have released 2 firmware updates with a month period is looking good for Rg35XXH. I still think Stock OS is best experience for this device. Everything just works and performance is best on stock OS. All other CFW have various things not working or having major issues i.e Bluetooth, HDMI, battery drain, Sound bugs
my first doubt was MM+ vs RG35XX. i chose the second one. Now i bought a XX H. Maybe de MM+ should be a very best choice in the beggining, but i chose with my heart. my heart is very happy today with my duo
As much as I love my Miyoo Mini Plus I always end up grabbing the 35XX H because is more comfortable to hold for longer periods of time. But the Miyoo holds a place in my heart. So, I’m keeping both.
Do you run god of war in the ra core? On the standalone it works well. Without framskipping it only sometimes has a little audio crackling, but only sometimes. Also you should mention the 35xx plus for people that prefer a vertical handheld.
Я не понимаю ажиотажа вокруг 35xx h, он вышел заметно хуже, чем retroid 2s. Линуксы не очень дружелюбны к пользователю, пока разберёшься с играми уже играть не хочется
I bought a 405v, wasn’t happy with the performance for PS2 and GC so got an Odin 2 Pro. Now I want something I can put in my pocket so have a MM+ on order. 405v now going to be redundant despite it still being a great machine running Gamma OS
