This thing seems pretty awesome, and despite having almost every console everyone releases, I obviously must have this as well. Now I want them to recreate a 3DS, and DS. That’s what we all really want. I think.
There is a high powered 3Ds 2 screen style device but it’s like gigantic. I think within the decade we should have those style devices in really small form factors.
@@wildercerrate7295 yeah, I was initially very excited about that device, but it’s fairly costly and the 3DS emulation scene simultaneously went bad for a bit there, and I figured Anbernic would jump in and make one soon. Hopefully.
@@joelgrebinsilvestri - The Plus is great. I had wanted to try the other format and the H was a natural pick. It's really nice. But the Plus definitely took care of my Gameboy nostalgia.
If u have a phone, u can download the game rom from it, then use otg and card reader to move the game rom from phone to micro sd of your handheld. I think every phone nowadays have otg function.
A few things that have me worried ... Battery right near the CPU. Not a recipe for longevity. Also I'm concerned about the hinge. Wondering how long before that one gives out. I really want to pick this up, but I think the smart money is on taking a wait and see approach for a few months .... Finding out of it has any quirks.
19:30 It's not like owners of the original GameBoy were lining up to "upgrade" to the Gameboy Pocket edition either. You had a GBA that played GBA games, so why upgrade to SP? This was the norm for my friend groups back then too. I never had an original Gameboy. My personal Nintendo handheld evolution was GBC -> GBA SP -> DS Original -> 2DS Original (flat & ugly edition)
Despite being born in the 90s, I didn't get my first handheld console until the SP. Eventually got a PSP, and finally a 3DS and N3DSXL. I love that the SP and 3DS are fully backwards compatible with the Nintendo handhelds I missed out on (GB, GBC and DS).
I upgraded back then. It had a rechargeable battery and a lit screen, two things that I had always wished the GBA had. I couldn't ever play my GBA in the dark, and I kept running out of batteries, so I saved up for several months and got the SP.
I bought Anbernic RG35XX SP. Is it possible to have several systems installed on different memory cards and then change the cards with the systems, e.g. Stock OS/muOS/Knulli/MinUI/GarlicOS?
Own an original GBA SP AGS101, I LOVE this form factor, but having the original working and doubting because of the noisy and lousy controls... I may wait for a revision, also it has a way high price for being an RG55xx, and I feel the RG55x and RG55xx Plus are better done consoles overall, specially on the DPAD and buttons.
Mine is on a boat or on a plane somewhere en route to my home. Anbernic is printing money right now. I'm tinkering with Portmaster on the H model. I'm going to make this one my dedicated Nintendo hand held emulator. Can't wait!
I havent seen his video, but the CPU doesn't have any passive cooling at all, throwing a copper heat sink or something like that couldn't hurt, and probably would protect the battery as well.
is it possible to map the C stick in N64 to a hotkey combo, so like R2 + X for up, R2 + Y for left, R2 + A for right and R2 + B for down? So you would have a fake 2nd analog stick essentially 😮
What did you find? When I was playing with it for the last week. I left the screen brightness on level 2. I had assorted gameplay across all consoles, but stayed with more of the older retro consoles. Gb, gbc, gba, nes, snes etc.
@@AishTalksTech whoa seriously? I never went as high as 8 hours at all. Did you power down completely between play sessions? Or did you just marathon it? Maybe it's because I played for a few hours, then closed up, then opened and play for a couple more.
It's very cool and pretty close, but perfect is a big statement. In order for it to really be perfect I would want it to be as slim as the original gba sp, and have slightly offset face buttons like the rg300x so you can actually use a and b to play gba platformers
