Anchoring Communities: A Roadmap to Equity and Transformation in Marginalized Communities 

Brenda Battle delivered the keynote address for the annual Homer G. Phillips public health lecture at Washington University School of Medicine. Battle is the Senior Vice President for Community Transformation and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at University of Chicago Medicine. The event's honoree was Dr. Nathaniel Hawthore Murdock, Jr., a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist gave unselfishly to his community and his colleagues in medicine throughout his more than 50 years of practice.
