@@clydeblackburne5263 nah I think the joke was they didn't want to mess up their perm and makeup. Sometimes in improve these inconsistencies are more apparent. Maybe.
I love the absurdity of it all. The fact that Ron and his team somehow wandered into an empty industrial part of town, the fact that every news team has a unique entrance location and take turns showing up, just hilarious.
Not to mention how the whole news team carries around unique weapons implying that’s how often they get into fights This scene is a masterclass in absurdist comedy
Really speaks volumes to how talented Steve Carell is when he manages to be the funniest guy in a scene with Ben Stiller, Vince Vauhn, Paul Rudd, Will Farrell and Tim Robbins. What a gem!
Now I want to edit together the scene where Brick throws the trident and the scene from Avengers: Infinity War, where Captain America catches the trident.
@@GM-kp7yw Well we only saw like 2-3 people die onscreen, one of them was the man burning on fire and the other was speared by Brick. Paul Rudd started with a handgun but in the fight he was using a club.
Brick, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safe house or a relative close by. Lay low for a while because you’re probably wanted for murder.
Fun Fact: 8 of the 9 members of the frat pack (A group of actors known for their roles in raunchy comedies) make an appearance in Anchorman, 6 of which appear in this scene (Jack Black had a cameo as the motorcyclist who punted Baxter off the bridge, and Seth Rogen played Scotty, a cameraman). The only member missing is Owen Wilson.
For some reason I always laugh when Vince Vaughn and his crew come around the corner on 10-speeds ...they’re like school bullies riding around the neighborhood. 😆
@@Warriorcats64 Herzog: "Wracked by convulsions of self-doubt and narcissism, TV news anchor Ron Burgundy squares off against a bevvy of foes consisting of his most dreaded professional competitors, and in the ensuing violent clash of wills cannot but be drawn like the moth to the flame towards the inevitable conclusion that humanity is itself self-deluded, and consists of nothing more than a sickening jumble of malevolent and retrograde emotions that all but assures an inevitable complete, and self-willed, suicide of the entire human race." (in a Paul F. Thompkins voice)
Clearly he's a video game character. He went into the inventory screen and equipped it. Now if you're wondering why most video game characters can keep an entire armory on them that they can magically pull out of no where....well you're on your own on that one.
Anchorman is the only movie in my life that I snuck in to. Absolutely no regrets. Seeing this movie for free on the big screen is one of the crowning moments of my entire life!
They dont complete with each other. They all tell propaganda these days and pretend to dislike each other to keep their "tribes" from uniting against the common enemy, the the corrupt corporate politicians.
This is such a bizarre detail: The percussion that comes in at about 4:05, when Paul Rudd is getting netted, is a throwback to Planet of the Apes (1968), during that first harvesting scene when the apes are capturing the humans with nets.
Luke Wilson @4:15 is hilarious. He fell off the map; acting bc he wanted to. But always so funny in every role and cameo. Blue streak is top 25 movie from my childhood.
God I love this movie!!! The editing of this scene is spectacular…. And I love the little nod to the Planet of the Apes with the net… the editor adding that little bongo music riff is brilliant and sells it
Comedy at its finest. And I'm being absolutely serious - this movie is a prime example of a hilarious and well-made original concept, nothing like most of what passes for comedy nowadays
