as an irl archaeologist this deck makes me soo happy and i am determined to own it one day but also as a Canadian archaeologist it makes me so happy to see indigenous mythologies from north america and around the world also represented!! everyone say thank you cilla and lisa~~
Wow! Thanks for sharing this deck. So interesting Cila included a Lithuanian goddess on the Death card. 😊 The Lithuanian people did not have a written history or mythology when the christians invaded. Everything was still an oral tradition. All written documents were done by Christian writers/historians so many people consider it inaccurate and skewed. The Lithuanian people were the last to be converted to Christianity out of all the Indo European countries. It’s been an interesting journey diving into my Lithuanian heritage. I have found several accounts that a goddess named Ragana is the goddess of witchcraft and Giltinė - goddess of death, also The Reaper. Other names include Kaulinyčia, Maras (black death or the Plague), Maro mergos, Kolera, Pavietrė, Kapinių žmogus.[2] Her sacred bird is the owl. Sometimes she was considered to be a sister of Laima (luck).
What a cool & interesting deck! I'm fascinated by mythology & deities of all cultures. Clearly a lot of thought went into its creation. Thank you Lisa!
Here after seeing this deck in your Ritual Tarot review. Lol I’m absolutely in LOVE with the variety of deities and archaeological artifacts presented in the cards. I can already imagine so many uses for this deck within my cartomancie and spiritual practices. ❤
What has always drawn me to esoteric ideas/philosophies is the history and culture that surrounds it. This is why I enjoy tarot and Hermetic Qabalah . . . All that to say, I just flippin' pre-ordered this 🙄
I will say, stylistically, this reminds me of a painted version of The Ritual Tarot. And the price of this deck is also pretty astronomical, it would cost 111 USD. So maybe people can stop ripping on the price for the ritual tarot.
I totally understand why people might like this, but all the different gods on the majors feels too much for me - and then on the other hand only pips for the minors. So glad I don't like it, so my wishlist doesn grow even more :D Thank you for sharing!
