Just a rought thought: Since acient debris is blast proof it might be possible to use it as a blast shield for a tunnel bore. What I am imagining is a changed tunnel bore that could remove liquids itself by having pistons at the front that push forward (Similar to one of the quarry designs that always pushed 12 blocks along). This might be possible if you can prevent the pistons from blowing up by putting a layer of debris infront of them. Thought I don't know how one would get the tnt past this wall.

That’s good, but I found that a really good way to find ancient debris is drinking an 8 minute fire resistance potion, then you start strip mining a 2 x 1 hallway while sprinting at y15 with a pickaxe that can insta-mine netherrack. You don’t need to worry about falling because of the low y level, and the fire resistance allows you to run straight through lava. By doing this you expose way more blocks than a bed would in just a few seconds(contrary to what a lot of youtubers say is the most efficient way to mine ancient debris). I got about half a stack of ancient debris in 40 minutes. I’m my opinion, this is the most efficient way to get ancient debris for the average Minecraft player. Great contraption though!

The idea of pushing the ancient debris downwards is simple yet extremely effective, I never would have thought of that. Genius

Hermitcraft Season 7 Nether Stream, featuring the one, the only, ilMANGOOOOOO! When they get the capability to build a true nether hub, I feel like such a massive machine is perfect. It's also a possible SciCraft crossover where a number of SciCraft members visit Hermitcraft to help with the project. Could also do an inverse stream, where Hermitcraft helps out with a massive SciCraft project on stream. Idk, it just sounds so practical and fun. Lots of effort, but also lots of exposure.

this is one of those rare things i was really excited to see you make! This is such an incredible moment in minecraft history, a block that requires this kind of set-up. The technology that went into this combines a lot of history

I like it how scicraft cares more about the explosion resistant moveable block than the NEW TIER OF GOD TOOLS

3:41 while the ancient debris cannot be blown up, it can still be moved. It’s one of the first blocks in the game that has both of these properties. So if you had headroom for the push limit on the sweepers, you could create a system that detaches the debris every time it sweeps.

I know a lot of people are laughing at the idea of a netherite beacon, but what if like every block of it that you placed into the base increased the effect slightly, and if you got a full layer, it would add another effect. This would be really expensive, but it would obviously be aimed at players that have already gotten pretty far into the game. And it isn't really needed either, so it could be just like something for technical players or players with a lot of time to work on.

could u automate the top level tunnel bores with making an ancient debry "blast shield" that you push forward to get rid of the lava patches and well TNT to get rid of everything else?

I’ve done 2 things like this and I’ve actually had much better luck mining out strips, placing a constant 1x1 tnt line, and just letting that do it’s thing

all of that for a single stack of ancient debris, damn. Shame that it's so rare, considering the Netherite Block looks so good.

This is a really good invention. However, in my multiplayer server I just created a massive mob farm in the overworld (for common mob drops) and just collected heaps of gunpowder which i later turned into TNT. I went down to y:15 and started strip mining in one direction for a few hundred blocks. I then placed TNT every 2-3 blocks in a chain formation. Overall, I spent just under an hour mining for ancient debris and managed to collect over 67 blocks. I personally think that creating automated mining machines for this particular purpose is a waste of time. But each to their own, I just wanted to share my experience.

I watch this video then I realize: I am watching one youtube channel with 426k subscribers who specializes in redstone part of the game which has a lot of other communities. Minecraft is truly a HUGE game.

It's actually pretty easy to just mine out the layers where most ancient debris is found (y=10-20). Once you get a Netherite Fortune III, Efficiency V, Unbreaking III, Mending pick, you can keep instamining Netherrack for a long time, repairing your tool with xp from quartz and mobs. I did this in a Warped forest biome between y13 and y15 for a few hours and got 18 Ancient debris, about 20 stacks of Nether quartz, and about 4 stacks of Ender pearls. (I could have gotten more pearls, but I wasn't really focusing on killing Endermen, and was leaving a lot of lava exposed for light.)

The thing about Netherite that makes it so rare is that those 64 ancient debris that the world eater uncovered will only yield a total of 16 ingots once everything is smelted and crafted out.

Bed blasting is a pretty quick and easy way to mine for ancient debris if you do it right since it can't blow up the debris and you don't take much damage if you block your feet. Best way is to have 4 blocks between you and the bed and block your feet. Upgraded all my tools and armor within probably 30 minutes.

To acquire a double chest of Netherite Blocks, they would need to completely mine out a 4,348 by 4,348 area. A double chest can hold 3,456 Blocks of Netherite. To craft that, they would need 31,104 Netherite Ingots; which in turn requires 124,416 Ancient Debris. According to the wiki, there were 214,155 Ancient Debris found within a 127,080 chunk area. This works out to an average of 1.6852 Ancient Debris per chunk. This means that 73,828.7 chunks would need to be fully mined out to acquire 124,416 Ancient Debris. A 73,828.7 chunk area works out to 271.7 by 271.7 chunks or 4,348 by 4,348 blocks.
