I'd love to see a video talking about the ancient philosophy of civilizations like Egypt, India, Aztecs, etc. They too had their philosophies apart from gods and mythology. Ancient philosophy is not limited to Greece. Just like Greek philosophy was given by philosophers like Socrates and Aristotle, Thales, Plato, etc., other civilizations also had their own philosophies which was not directly related to the Gods and mythology.
Yes, in that I hold to the Tolkien/Lewis debate that concluded that God gave good visions/dreams to the pagan world, anticipations of the true myth, myth made fact, as Lewis put it. That good dreams cross-fertilise is axiomatic. Dt.4:19 can be taken as kindergarten lessons to the general world, merely forbidden to those in junior school: "And when you see the sun or moon or stars, don't be tempted to bow down and worship them. [Yahweh] put them there for all the other nations to worship" (CEV). My own vampire books incorporate the divinities of the ancient myths, such as Arattan, Egyptian, Norse.
Ancient Egyptian religion bears similarities to ancient hinduism- vedic practices. Surya or Sun God was the main diety and his temple called Konark, which sounds similar to Kanark. There were many Gods who had human form, animal form or a combination of both. Hindus also believe in sacred plants, trees, mountains etc. Kings belonging to Sun dynasty or moon dynasty were also common. The Hindu goddesses are called Maa, much like Maat. We hindus still believe in afterlife but not in the same way as Egyptians.
There is a handsome new book of 224 pages with 185 brilliant color plates titled "Sacred Deities of Ancient Egypt" that illustrates in illuminating color photographs and detailed text the lives and beliefs of the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt. Many of the photos of the actual tombs and hieroglyphics have never been reproduced before. The book ia available through Fine Arts Press.
Thank you dear for this topic What is the origin of the worship of the god Amun in Egypt (of course I mean Amun, who symbolized him with the ram). Please give me your opinion on the matter
I worship him. He’s incredible… he’s definitely cold & emotionless on the outside, but inside he’s so nurturing & protective… ❤️ do you worship him as well?
In my past life I was an inchworm inching along a branch enjoying the tasty green leaves until the fateful day when I was devoured by Robin. It wasn't until later of course that the robin hoodie Bowers me was my girlfriend at the time so because of that I had to break it off because that was too negative. However, it seems that is the fait for us for all the time.
I bet if the Egyptians knew that there were more grassy lands that looked so beautiful, they would just go "screw this land ima go get myself some grass, cya gods!!" XD But seriously it is amazing and I do think that these gods probably existed in some way and probably still do
Every religion has different rules but polytheistic religions or ethnic religions don't have rules based on who to believe in or worship their rules are more about daily life, cultural norms, rules for things like that
Egypt is in Africa 🌍 it was known as kemet civilization the Greeks came up with the name Egypt it's online look it up Ancient Egypt was pure African people period not Egyptian and Mediterranean dark 🌑 skin bs I know people who visit the museums in Egypt and told me that the mummies were pure African people period the art and statues and writing language is of pure African people period I look online and noticed that the mummies were pure African people period not this Mediterranean dark 🌑 skin bs 100 true facts 💯 facts truth
Only Jesus Christ is Emanuel, which means God is dwelling among us.And also the verse John 10:10.And also the holy bible verse that said I am the Way the Truth and the Life no man cometh to the Father except through Me.💯💯💯
Amun was first known as God of the night (his name means "the hidden one"). His later association with Ra, the God of the sun, made him a symbol of a full cycle of existence (life and death, as in day and night), thus he was considered to be the King of Gods.
The Egyptian pantheon doesn't function like the Greek because in Memphis Ptah is Supreme and in Heliopolis Ra is Supreme but in other localities Amun takes precedence
@@Manoatevarua your average ancient Egyptian still worshipped many Gods even though all 2000 were not worshipped by every single person or even in the same way
Thank you very much for the nice video. I have a question. About the Book of the Dead (10:57), I have heard “If the heart and the feather “balanced”, it continued Field of Reeds” in a book and in a museum's caption that I read in the past. But in this video you said “If the heart is lighter”. Are there two theories?
I think there are different interpretations. I just heard that there's no explanation of what happened. I've also heard that it had to be balanced. It couldn't be too light or too heavy which makes sense since Ma'at is balance. It also makes sense that it may have been eaten because Ammit is there but it would have been eaten if it was too light and too heavy.
We only had one god Amen-Ra. My ancestors were just honoring our ancestors and communicating with them same as we still do today. They also understood and respected nature.
The oldest religion is Freemasonry/Luciferianism (rules our society) which started in the "Garden OF Eden". Nimrod (Santa-Claus) who built later Babylon went back to the worship of the fallen angels/ancient gods/aliens with human/child sacrifice instead of animals and his religion was Catholicism in which all false religions have their roots in. Catholics today in the masses still do this sacrifice just symbolically with the bread/flesh and wine/blood and then they try to justify it by taking verses out of the Bible out of context. Christ-Mass and Easter are also Babyblonian and have to do with child sacrifice to the sungod Tammuz/Horus/Baal (Dec. 25th is the birthday of the sungod and not Jesus. I is Winter solstice, days getting longer again). After the fall of the tower people were scattered across the globe but they took one thing with them, the Babylonian mystery religion of Nimrod and Semiramis/Ishtar/isis/Venus/Shakti/Shambala/Shekina or "Mary" in the Catholic church representing the female part of the devil (according to the false occult trinity of Babylon "Father, Mother, Son" Lucifer is a Transgender - Baphomet). Later Catholicism mixed with the Pagan Roman religion to "Roman-Catholicism (it is Satanism in disguise as Chritianity, using Bible terminology to subvert true Christianity)" . For example Osiris in Egypt was known in origin as Nimrod from Babylon but they are the same being. The names and also stories changed over time and people added their traditions to them. The only religions that are not rooted in Babylon is true Judaism (sadly there are also Talmud (babylonian) Jews) and Christianity. Thor/Zeus/Lucifer/Shiva/Peter Pan(ic) are also the same being, just different names and thats all. So in the end there are just 2 religions in the world. The mystery religion of babylon and true biblical Christianity, there is nothing else. If someone wants to go into detail with this look up the 4 part series by Spencer Smith "The Third Adam".
religion & spiritual is something personal. new world religions subeject kids in school to teachings before they are mature enough to make their own choices. free will :/ really !
You mean black people have their own history and stories ?? that Egypt is at the tip of North Africa ? There is no need for them to steal or reboot tradial European charters .Because they have their own unique and yet equally interesting culture that they fail too explore on their own. Why one might say you could do a series television shows called "The Pharos " based off Egyptian culture and Gods ? ....No way !
All this is great yet it is kind of out of place that you talk about it as absolute truth when IN FACT they just speculations since nobody alive lived with them so to know exactly what they did and how they thought is IMPOSSIBLE. This is the deep problem of modern mankind they believe to know everything and it is all in their heads¡
Ms Kelly, you're hot! 😉 Ok, really... There is a dagger that was found in King Tut's tomb, made of folded meteorite iron (an awesome feat!) Has another similar dagger, or other folded metal item been found?🤔 Thank you
Some row the spirit in them to hell, she's not going with them, some row up a river I love the Universe Not all the bad things here are her, she will not be used by those who ruin lives forever, though they fall their own test
"But Aaron's snake (rod turned into a snake) ate up all the other snakes (rods belonging to Pharaoh's magicians)". Praise be to the God of Abraham, so extremely superior to witchcraft & sorcery.
Sometimes I wonder how many religions are not based on constellation stories due to the tilt of the earth during the seasons as they rise and sink below the horizon? I found this in Sumerian, Hindu, Vikings, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Hopi/Navajo/Mayan, Inuit, Ethiopian. Ironically, before the babylonian priests within the Jewish religion and roman pagan priests in the early christian church rewrote the new testament of the christian texts, judean and early christianity were the only religions not based on constellation stories. I'd love to know any other religions not based on constellation stories!
@Egon - Religious Polytheist people for thousands of years had their own Gods and afterlives with no founders of these religious traditions because they evolved with the people's. The Egyptian Duat can be just as real as Vaholl or the Fields of Asphodel
Did you know that they are not egyptians The name egyptous is made up by Greek historians. They called themselves as Kemetians from kemet land and not egypt.
Not all the Egyptians used the same name to refer to their country but most of them did call it kemt ... Which means the black land ... And never called them selves kemmties
You don't seem to know history because there are no records of the Egyptians calling themselves the "Kemetians" lol but yes the name of Egypt is originally Kemet. But the Greeks didn't speak or understand Egyptian/Kemetic language at first so Alexander called Kemet by the name of Egypt
There's a few over simplifications and not taking into account the 3,000 years of history (For example, the God's Wife of Amun only comes into being in the Later New Kingdom if I recall properly) Another thing not entirely accurate is that the people of Egypt were NOT encouraged to visit temples, most Egyptians (peasants) would only get to see the front pylon, maybe some exterior walls, and rarely might get access to the open courtyard. Access to temples were restricted to the priests. It's also not true that "priests and priestesses were allowed to enter the sanctuary", Only certain types of priests, the high-up priests would have access to the shrine in the Holy of Holies, as we have writings from some Wab Priests (the lowest form of priest) who made a specific mention that they were allowed to enter or be near the shrine, suggesting it was not routine for them or people of their rank to gain access
WRONG WRONG WRONG....THEY HAD NO RELIGION WE HAVE SPIRITUALITY AND THE GODS ARE REPRESENTATIONS OF CREARATION...the people of the descendants should be narrarating not foreign people trying to learn.....so disrespectful
Anyone can read a book about this and learn. You don’t magically know this. You have to learn. Oh and most people in Egypt don’t give a shit about their history. Nothing she said was incorrect
@@dayyanahmad117 WTF....wrong no its not....re-means to do over ligon...means to bind...repititious ceremony of someones interpretation....spiritual is exactly what it is spiritual... meaning self....
