The fact that the girls' school on the border has a sign that says Templeogue on the Terenure side, and Terenure on the Templeogue side shows how much in limbo it is. If there's a real limbo, I doubt it has 16" pizzas with two toppings for a tenner from Silvio's though.
I'm from Templeogue, and when people ask me where I'm from, I don't even bother saying "Templogue". Because I just get a blank stare in response. Instead, I say I'm from between Tallaght and Terenure.
Time to start looking at the satellite towns around Dublin that acted as refugee camps for dubs during the Celtic Tiger: Naas, Maynooth, Dunboyne, Navan, Drogheda, etc.
Greetings Frankie, I'm a Templeogueian(have I spelled that correctly?) myself. Great video. Very enjoyable. It's very interesting you draw a distinction between Terenure and Templeogue and what about nearby Rathfarnham? Yes, Rathgar is different again where the houses cost even more money but why someone would want to live in these red brick houses, that are just piles of rubble, is a mystery to me. That red brick engineering back then is significantly more inferior to the much higher quality builds in Templeogue even better than the builds in Terenure. The houses on my road were built in 1954 and use high quality concrete blocks the manufacture of which contributes significantly to global warming climate change whatever it's called in the media. I have never, and will never, fit in around here. All the best and many thanks, Peter Nolan. Ph.D.(physics). D6W.
I once met a man from templeouge, and I cant tell you what he looked like, what he was wearing, how tall or big he was cause all that registered was he was from templeouge, it was if his physical manifestation was configured in alignment with his way of talking: telling me he was from templeogue. I can now only taste spicebags, I can only see spicebags
This is my so-called "Posh Suburb"! Everyone I meet asks me where I live and anyone I tell 'Templeogue' they go "Wow lovely spot, so desirable. To which I reply "Bilge!" I mean c'mon! It's just TEMPLEOGUE!!
