The snake isn’t fossilized, but is instead calcified. It could be ancient, but given its location and state, I highly doubt it. It’s still very cool and a remarkable find. That place is wonderful

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I would love to see it myself but I’m terrified of tight spaces and dying trapped in a cave is one of my deepest fears. Nonetheless, the wonder of that huge wall of formations, the fossils, the huge chambers and gigantic structures that make it feel like the humans have shrunk to the size of ants, it’s amazing. Thanks for letting me see it!❤

(Verse 1) Three miles deep in the cavern's jaw, Me and my crew, we saw what we saw. An ancient snake, fossilized in awe, Locked in stone, a prehistoric claw. (Chorus) In the cave, where the echoes talk, We found a serpent, old as the bedrock. Three miles in, no need for a chalk, That fossil got the whole block in shock. (Verse 2) This ain't no tale from a storybook, We spelunkers, man, we the real crooks. Took a journey, a path that we undertook, Found that ancient snake in a hidden nook. (Bridge) Ancient as the stars, silent as a ghost, Three miles into the cave, we boast. An artifact of time, we raise a toast, To the snake from the past, our surprising host. (Verse 3) Now the word's out, spreading like wildfire, Snake fossil find, desire's getting higher. History in our hands, the stakes never dire, We the gangster geologists, uncovering the mire. (Chorus) Lights on our helmets, paths unknown we pave, Deep in the heart where the stalactites crave. Three miles in, it's the history we save, Ancient snake in the rock, from a prehistoric grave. (Outro) So we emerged from the depths with a story to tell, 'Bout an ancient snake, where it once fell. In the cave's belly, where darkness dwell, We found a piece of the past, and it's selling well.
@DesertBloomBettas
@DesertBloomBettas 8 месяцев назад
i dont know why it presents so uniform, but i think it's likely the giraffe rock is a formation of diorite in another host rock, you can often see it in conglomerates like this where it's a large chunk of diorite sprinkled in through granite or some other rock type, and because it's darker, it stands out as a round spot.

First of all, it's not a fossil. A fossil is something wedged between a sediment. Secondly, how does ANYONE know that it's ancient? It could have just died like 6 months ago. Come on, let's use some common sense.

@user-hr2oi6jd7m where is the snake skin? A snake skin should last significantly longer in a cave environment and it's no longer there. If animals scavenged the carcass you would expect to see a lot more of the bones picked apart. Looks like it died a very long time ago and the scales have had time to full disintegrate leaving just the fossilized bones

I see the alluvial deposits all around you after the snake skeleton, and wonder if and how much gold is scattered in them! First a fault happens, then the fault gouge is washed out by the water, and you have your narrow passages in the cave system. But nature also fills those voids with minerals and crystals form, which is the building blocks of those caves where some people create a mine.
@SensiProductionzBlindDogVideos

Untouched gold, for sure. What are the laws surrounding this scenario? Are caves protected? Can't take anything out without a mining permit maybe? I've always been curious about that
@jeffreyyoung4104
@jeffreyyoung4104 8 месяцев назад
@@SensiProductionzBlindDogVideos It depends on each location and laws in the state they are in. In Michigan I can't pan more than a troy ounce each year, which makes amateur gold panning useless for me, but the mining laws are different, once you stake a claim.

@@phonecameravideos it's more about being careful at protected sites than anything. I wouldn't want to be the guy to take something out and then be doing heavy time because I didn't do my due diligence. The less we care about preservation, the more destroyed the world becomes, from carelessness. Following certain laws isn't a bad thing. Being worried about doing something illegal unintentionally, isn't a bad thing either. Better to be safe than sorry.

3:50 the flat top of the stalagmite on the left, shouldn't' that indicate tectonic plate movement, ground lift, drop, or shift, etc. at some point? How is the top flat without a cap? It would be rounded if no disturbance, right? (edit - I'm inclined to think it's more indicative of a past water level, after seeing more of the video, still very thought provoking).

If it was part of the rock, then it's a fossil, but if it's just sitting out there, it's a skeleton. Fossils are skeletons that have been mineralized over time. That means that the calcium that once made up the bones, has been replaced by mineral laden water that leaves deposits in the spaces of the bone, all the way down to the cellular level.

That's not 'pudding stone, ( spotted rock) that is a actual leopard from a gazillion years ago that jumped too high, or from too high, or was high, and landed with so much force it broke through the ground and stopped where you see it. Big game hunters have the same thing but on the walls where they ran through, almost, the wall, and there they are. Pudding don't make rock anyway. Ever herd of pudding tang? That is super soft but can take a beating and last for years, it is just very expensive to have in a collection. A friend of mine got some pudding tang and they take half his check every week to support the pudding tang. Anyway, thanks for going where I'm never going because of fat considerations. I do know a couple of caves in Kentucky i would like you too explore?
