The wall reminds me of an old Roman fortress. I love seeing these places this is all so fascinating that so much unknown history is sitting in plain sight.
I've noticed in Kansas that a lot of old houses come with what are basically scrapbooks. The scrapbook is the diary of the house, and its contents are the history of that house. It stays with the house and is kept by its current homeowner, but always stays with the house. Especially if it's a town's "historical house." Sometimes, if you knock on the door and approach the homeowner and just ask about the history of the house, they will probably be willing to share what they know about it. I would love to know if any pictures or newspaper documentation was ever done on the rock wall of this house. But then again photography wasn't around when this thing was built lol. It looks very, very old! I love your videos! They're all so very interesting! ❤
Man you do awesome groundwork. I gotta hand it to you. Sir that is the bottom of a pyramid. Yup. And that house is on top of a foundation that ain't moving or shifting. And how deep does that "wall" go in the ground?
This wall is unlike most in that it seems like shoddy work. Granted it's lasted hundreds of years but it is lacking the nice aesthetics we normally see with old construction. This almost looks like it was hastily put up and thankfully it lasted. The wall going up the stairs looks more like the ancient construction we are used to seeing.
The stones in the wall could have been damaged by extreme heat caused by the X-Factor. The theory is that the buildings were connected to a power grid that caused a global meltdown, and all over the world we have massive meltology, not geology. There are different stages of morphing of the architecture.
When the hills line up with magnetic north, south, east and west, it’s a good sign it’s not naturally occurring. Most of the hills around here are in perfect line with compass direction . Just my observation, but I think they are mostly hollow hills, with hundreds maybe thousands of years of history. And many connected w/ underground tunnels . I spent years studying the dead sea scrolls, so I have much respect for your view of our Creator and the burnt/ buried, turned to salt theory . But I found much evidence that our ancient texts have been altered, quite a bit from the original Hebrew Aramaic languages. And I suspect the resets are at an appointed time and that information is being withheld from us. Perhaps it is based on our level of wickedness, perhaps it is based on a calendar.
“Ancient Walls” That’s hilarious. The wall was started in 1870 and the original house above it was built in 1880. Lewis & Clark stopped on the river bank 1/2 mile away in 1804. The only other people here at that time were indigenous people. Atchison was founded in 1854. The original home at 4th and Santa Fe was built for the Belz family. A descendent of that family Helen Belz Moore married Fred Stein, (renowned inventor) and he built a new home using some portion of the original home in 1947/48. He passed away in 1972 and the home was inherited by his son, Fred Jr. I’d love to hear what you based your speculation of the wall as being “ancient” and “hundreds and hundreds” of years old on. I’d also love to hear what you based the same speculation of the former church’s age upon as well. Rusty threaded pipe from concrete that is still in good shape? If you want to make online videos that make you at least appear to be intelligent, investigate - don’t speculate! Ironically, the library was a block away. You could have Googled the address of the Stein home. As for why did they build a wall and home on the hill? I’d guess the view of Atchison was desirable. The desire to avoid the periodic floods of the Missouri River may have been a bonus. Hope that helps you and your viewers. Before you can teach, you must LEARN, Grasshopper.

Good god! I live in Atchison, less than a mile from this house. As a presenter on historical trolley rides, I actually know the facts about this place...unlike your fantasies. The house was built in the 1920s by the founder of Steinlyte Labs. It was built on an enormous limestone outcropping, the top of which was cut down to make a level surface. The waste rock was used to form the base of the retaining wall that has you so puzzled. That wall was expanded over the years to increase the yard space. The whole thing is simply one huge retaining wall made of limestone from several quarries, holding back the soil that was added between the original cliff and the wall. It's a century old, not millennia! I might add, having a solid monolith for a foundation, that home has no settling issues. As for Theater Atchison...get serious. Steel railings will always rust in this climate. Those sunken windows? Standard procedure for large old buildings around here with deep cellars. They let light in. There was no cataclysmic "Mudflood", as you so coyly hinted. Don't claim to have "done your research" when you don't know what you're talking about.
