Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!

Nice catch of what was probably a Starlink launch out of Vandenberg. Stage separation and the main engine burn and then the 1st stage entry burn. Good stuff.

Oh cool. I think I met the railfan at Elkhart when I was there with my dad this fall. They were pretty cool and especially excited about what came through while we were there.

I work at a plastics plant that uses EQUX cars for resin pellets. Equistar is one of five vendors that supply us. The cars were empty judging by the hollow sounds, heading to the Gulf coast chemical plants. I unload these cars one compartment at a time and our setup can empty a car in about 20-24 hours. BNSF switches us once a week.

When I was in the Air Force in the '70s, I was stationed at Little Rock AFB and we had a C-130 with the tail number 7777, we called it "bunch of 7s". Wonder if it's still flying. Doesn't seem that long ago to me, but it's 50 years has passed.

As I sit and watch this show, I wonder how many Conductors would be turning on their phones to VRF Channel, and seeing themselves trundle by,,, LOL. In another way, they can use the camera ( if they know the location of) to see how their train is doing back there...

FRA rules forbid the use of cellphone while operating a 🚂 Train. The rule was put in due an accident where a passenger train collided with a freight due to a engineer texting on his phone.

Nice catch on that CSX inspection train at Waycross. Interesting that they use an ex-SP (Sunset Limited) 10-6 sleeper and didn’t even bother painting it CSX colors.

Did you see the second meteor at timestamp 19:50:38? At first I thought that was the meteor mentioned at the beginning of the footage until you slowed down the second meteor when the train was passing.
@mjsdean
@mjsdean 6 месяцев назад
I do not believe that was a meteor. A similar flash and decay was seen at about the same relative time after launch on the 12/7-8/23 Grab Bag (Turn left onto the railroad tracks) at video timestamp 19:24 (Hesperia timestamp 00:10:08). Seems very unlikely that too very bright meteors would coincide that way, but since SpaceX reuses its boosters, I'm betting it's the first-stage re-entry rocket firing to slow its descent.

Is it me or has BNSF carloads dropped way off? And they have lots of engines that they don’t need to pull their cargo, because I’m seeing way too many BNSF engines on other railroads.
@robertveronelli7208
@robertveronelli7208 6 месяцев назад
They do seem to use a tremendous amount of engines on their trains. Is there a reason for this or is it just a waste of motive power?
