I did not record this. Shout out to the person that did. I haven't been able to locate this video on RU-vid, since it was originally uploaded. It's a shame, because it's the only decent front-of-house recording I've seen of her in character, singing this song. So; for those who missed it the first time; here is Amber Riley, in her Olivier Award winning turn as Effie White, singing 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Gong'.

Was lucky enough to watch it in the West End when it first opened… have been searching for a recording of this song for years. Amber received a standing ovation which lasted over a minute - they had to delay starting the next scene!!!

I loved Jennifer Holiday in this role, but I also really enjoyed Ms. Riley's version in this recording. So much better than the version on the Olivier's . Controlled, powerful and still emotional.

I agree. Incredible vocalist but when I saw her in the show, there was no depth; her Effie came across as really shallow and you had no real feeling of her dreams being snatched away from her.

@@shoequeenn01 Jennifer is known for being honest, she’s got no reason to lie and has never lied she fled out said that she saw her cover on Glee and said it was meh but when she watched her life, it was the best renditions she has seen. Your opinion isn’t honest it is stupid. Firstly Amber Riley vocally and technically hit every night that she should she wasn’t flat and she hit every run with ease. She belted and mixed when she needed to. Name another cover that is better than this?
