I have the same name Richard, and both my wife and I would love your way of life. This has been one of my dreams of all time. Thank you for such a lovely gift that you take us with you. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. OH BY THE WAY, I HATE GARLIC. But the wife loves it.

Cracking video, I could smell that wild garlic where you were collecting it from. Everywhere smells so fresh outside at the moment, we have been walking in wooded areas around us to view the bluebells, they have been amazing. Hopefully you will be getting back to recording your walks and get back to your challenge you set yourself last year, i can appreciate your life is in a whirlwind at present and it is so lovely to watch you settling on board to your new home. We also loved a visit we did on our boat going down the Anderton lift and onto the Weaver for a few days. We have some photos we took of the original lift after it was closed when we first started boating and travelled on the T&M back in 1977/78, only holiday times on our own boat. Glad you got to meet up for a social time with Robbie Cummins and also the boys on Silver Fox.

I love the music choices. And the peace and quiet of the river is amazing! Such reflections of the sky and trees!! If the government won’t continue the subsidy and maintenance of the locks it’ll make for more problems for everyone who lives on and next to the water. Hopes up!

Bank holiday monday, we were moored at Talybont on the Mon and Brec, weather was awful, and we had hail and very cold too, Ah well, have a boat on hold for next year too, weather can't be as bad again, can it?🤔🤣 Loving the new boat!

well me and my best mate dave watched your great vlog. so we decided to stand in buckets of water and went up and down in the lift , in his block of flats... some one complained to the police and now we have been warned not to do it again... i did say we watched your vlog. but they didnt see the funny side of it....hahahahahahaha.... theres allways a spoil sport.... great vlog guys xxxxx i think i should stop drinking.....lol

Sometimes on a cold wet morning there's nothing nicer than slobbing about with fire on, not dressed or washed but with a mug of coffee. Cosy! And it looked really cosy too with the rain lashing down outside on the BH Monday.

In a way you were lucky to get into all that rain after the Anderton Boat Lift. As I understand from Foxes Afloat this week your boat gets really dirty getting out throug the last gate by the lift. Your dinette looks really cozy, no matter if you game, compute or just enjoy a glass of vine. Vish I could taste some of the stuff you prepare from your scavenging, because I do not have the skille to do such things myself. Love your new boat! Love from Denmark.

Hmmm. I went out to my garden today where some wild garlic (at least I THINK it is wild rather than domestic) is growing and brought in what I was hoping were garlic buds. I had printed off the recipe and processed them. Now, as I look at your video, I realize I picked garlic buds that have already opened. I guess I have just pickled garlic flowers! It will be interesting to see how they do. LOL

Hi Fran & Richard. Been a big fan of you for a good while now as have done a lot of boating & narrow boating over the years. Firstly congratulations on owning your first narrowboat she is beautiful very jealous! My question is if you don't mind me asking, what do you do if you need to see a doctor or dentist or if you take any medication how do you go about that situation now that you're permanently on a narrow boat? Oh wow.. just wow - the engineering on that boat lift is simply mind boggling. How happy you guys are on your new boat just shouts out in your vlogs, lovely to see. The new kitchen area with that butler style sink looks great and that garlic pickle will be a treat. My sister forages (she too is a liveaboard) and I'm always amazed at what she finds. I wish there was a way of voting for you guys to have your own TV series, its just what we need in these times. Enjoy your river cruises and I hope the weather improves for you :)

Dear Fran and Rich - So glad to see you back on a river! The canals are marvellous, but there’s nothing like the wildness and space of a river. Dinettes are great - comfortable places for long sitting/work! I find sofas less forgiving for older backs! Enjoyed your forage of the wild garlic and pickling lesson. Happy tootling this season!

Hi Guys it's great to see you using the Anderton lift and well documented commentary info. I live about half a mile from there in Yarwood close what use to be tha old Yarwoods Boat Yard no a housing estate Muir housing. I've lived there for the past 22 years. Anyway back to your adventure using the boat lift, it looks like a good experience and I bet a little scary in places? Are you on your way up towards Hunts lock on the River Weaver or have you got another destination? Robbie Cummings was in the dry dock opposite me a few weeks ago and I would have loved to have gone over to see him but I was in isolation pending an heart operation so I didn't get the chance. However thanks for the interesting Vlog and lovely to see you both again. Happy Vloging 🥰😁

You don’t seem to see many black swans, or maybe people just mostly show the white ones. I think the black are beautiful in their own right so I enjoyed seeing it with the others, thanks. The boat lift looks scary to me, I don’t care for heights much at my age so that is probably why it scares me. Lol. Must have given you a start when the gates wouldn’t open. The wild garlic buds look interesting, hope you let us know how they turned out. As with most things, alls well in the end, especially the suds at the end of the video👍🏻🙋🏼
