Something cool about Andor was that, behind the scenes, the lead Production Designer was actually in the writers room as they were breaking down the episodes. Not many productions can line up their schedules this perfectly so if you’re wondering why the set design of Andor is impressive by Disney+ standards, it’s because of this creative cohesion between the production and the creatives.

Andor is, and i'm not kidding, the most beautiful, intricately crafted piece of Star Wars media, ever. I would go as far as to say that its better than the OG trilogy in terms of filmmaking and storytelling. I'm simply in awe that we could get a show as perfect as Andor. Thank you so much, Tony Gilroy, for in these past few weeks you have added happiness to my otherwise sad life (im going through a bad time right now so you would have to understand watching this show clears those problems for a brief 50 mins and that is all I could ask for.)

I love this show because it doesn’t feel like ordinary Star Wars, it has a more serious tone.

Andor has been the best thing to come out of Star Wars. It feels like something that was made out of passion and an eagerness to tell a story.

The show focuses on the secondary protagonist of a spin-off movie where everyone dies at the end. And it triumphs on every level over the two previous shows starring fan-favorite iconic characters.

Some of the most original SW has felt in a looong time. Mostly new characters, mature writing & stunning cinematography.. I love this show.

Both Andor & Rogue One are a breath of fresh air, you could relate with the characters, the soundtrack is a banger, the stories are pretty good, etc I can’t wait to see season 2 of Andor 👍

Its a shame that this show doesn't get the attention it deserves due to it not having legacy Star Wars characters. I also think that the Book of Boba Fett & Obi-Wan also hurt Andor'z viewership as well.

Andor Is such a black sheep in Star Wars. Very few people were excited about it and oddly enough less people watch it. This Show is so good and it feels like genuine TV/storytelling. Star Wars's foundation IS the skywalkers, but not every story needs to directly touch the skywalkers. Sometimes its hard to relate to an ALL powerful Jedi, But relating to normal people trying to start a rebellion is all too easy. Very excited for the season Finale tomorrow.

I particularly liked how there's no Jedis or Siths on it, showcasing there's more to the universe than just the fight between those two forces.

Andor is peak fiction like what more can you say?

Andor is an amazing show, it went from being my least anticipated Star Wars show of the year to being my favorite! I love the writing, production value, performances, and so as the focus on characters rather than spectacle. I love it more with each new episode, and I love that we got a show like Andor in this era of Star Wars.

Everyone says since the original to pay their due respect but I honestly think it surpasses those movies

There are a handful of works that transcend their medium & exist as part of the greater collective artistic standard. S1 of Andor has become one of those works. I have been a critic & journalist for years & I can confidently say the level of artistic intent & execution on display in Andor is absolutely phenomenal. As counterintuitive as it may seem, my fear is that because it exists as part of a large IP it will risk being overlooked or underappreciated.

This show is what many SW fans have been asking for. And I hate how much of the clickbait SW YT channels look down on Andor because they have to sit down and actually think about it.

What i love, is that Andor is pretty mutch like Jyn in the beginning of Rogue One, "it's not a problem if you don't look up". Then, by meeting people who cares, who figth and die, they change and figth ! the show was amazing, and i cannot wait for season 2 !

I like the little details like how aldani has its own traditions like the event every 3 years or how ferrix takes its citizens that die and makes them apart of a wall in the town. Also I love that while there's interesting politics we primarily stay focused on the characters.

The acting in this show is easily the best I've ever seen in Star Wars, bar none. Maybe there are specific scenes and performances in other shows that briefly rival them, but there's nothing so consistently amazing from the smallest part to the biggest. Give the casting director a raise.

This show really makes it clear that you can flesh out a universe without having that clutch of fan service to keep us interested.

100% agree! Without a doubt, the best Star Wars production of the Disney era and rates right up there with the Original Star Wars. Frankly, this is top tier television, Star Wars or otherwise. And for once, I feel like Star Wars is going somewhere I've never seen before. Andor is the kick in the ass this franchise has needed for a long time. Easily my favorite series currently on any streaming network, and right at the top of my favorite shows of all time...

The best part was when Cassian said “It’s Andorin time!” and Andored all over the empire.

How I wish for Gilroy, Filoni and Favreau to create proper trilogy decades after the sequel saga. Andor is no doubt the most enjoyable and the best Star Wars content I have consumed since the end of Mando s2.

Nemik, Luthen, Mon Mothma and Kino have some incredible dialogue, especially Luthen’s monologue on his sacrifices and Kino’s rally to the prisoners. Fantastic writing

Bro you hit the nail on the head. The basement dwelling cousin humping fans don’t like Andor because it’s not filled with Rememberberries. There’s actually depth, character development, WORLD development and it’s genuinely for adults. It stands on it’s own merit and moves the universe forward as opposed to relying on nostalgia

The biggest difference to other Disney Star Wars (with the notable and fitting exception of Rogue One), Andor has characters who make relatable decisions based on who they are and what they know. Yes, there are other important differences, but this single one really sticks out.

For me, Andor, Rogue One and Mandalorian are the best Star Wars content ever created. I love the whole SW universe and I feel Mando and Andor are stories so well told that they are 99% self-supported. Like, Mando is a good "western" without depending on the whole Skywalker lore, and Andor is a freaking good drams series by its own

Like R1 it swoops in and restores my faith in the franchise. Sure Mandalorian was fun but it feels a bit too safe right now and the fan service is getting in the way of interesting storytelling. Even Visions was a great exersice in more traditional SW fare but Andor, with its intricate machinations and insistence to keep it morally grey whenever possible... It has kept me hooked for each new episode from part one scene one. I am a bit sad about the season finale tomorrow as it means we will have to wait for season 2. And I really do hope rhe heads of Disney continue to stand out of the way of Gilroy and his team so as to not force cameos and fan service in to appease the vocal fans that think Andor isn't Star Wars enough.

honestly one of my favorite parts of the show is mon mothma. seeing how she's portrayed in this show as well as her pretty sad family dynamic and her morally grey choices were really captivating for me

I couldn’t agree more with your review. Hands down Andor is the best Star Wars property I have ever watched. I was completely moved by the story, the characters, and the music. I literally wanted to join the rebellion and fight the Empire by the end of the season 😆 . It felt more like an HBO show than a Disney+ because of the high quality of the writing. More Star Wars fans need to watch the show.

For me, the reason why Andor works as a Star Wars property is because of the immersive worldbuilding, the small little attention to sounds, the environment and detail. It is the world in which we can allow the possibility of the jedi and sith to be wh they are! Unbelievably special. That is why it is so Star Wars. On the other hand it helps that the entire production, from the writing, acting, direction, soundtrack, etc... is top teir. 👌 It's my absolute favorite Star Wars show to date.

For Star Wars, ANDOR is what LOGAN is to the X-Men and comic book movie genre, overall. It ascends from the sandbox instead of thrashing around in it. It's unexpected and truly beautiful.

Just to add how the series do not rely on fan-service, it's likely why it holds quite a low viewership. There's still a certain expectation coming from the viewers. I've encountered some who miss out on the series because Andor is a minor character in the 'Star Wars' universe and don't think he's worth exploring. I say that's such a narrow way to measure or perceive a story. True to its premise of telling a story of a minor character, the plot is moved by the stories of its characters. We're drawn into the world, not thrusted into a plot. Its sincerity, as you've mentioned, is what most of other Disney+ series are missing. Not giving this series a chance and keep setting the usual expectations, and that you expect will you get.

Andot's cinematography is incredible. Definitely the best. On par or better than The Last Jedi in terms of cinematography. IMO Andor is a Masterpiece.

Just came to this video after finishing the series - what an epic tale - so raw and visceral by far the best piece of Star Wars in a long time if not ever.

This is definitely a show that focuses on a person who's constantly attacked by restrictions to the point where he has no choice but to rebel for real. When you can't indulge in what you like, but you know what you're against. I love this show.

After the final episode comes out, I'm definitely gonna finish this series. I've been burnt out on Star Wars a bit, but Tales of the Jedi peaked my interest again, and Andor sounds like it'll only get me back into it.

Incredible video and I agree with everything. If we're discounting the animated stuff, Andor is without a doubt the best live action Star Wars we've gotten since the originals (arguably better imo). Also the fight at the beginning from Interstellar Ranger Commence looks freaking phenomenal. Well done!

That was beautifully summarized. I always wanted to see what was happening with the common people in this huge world. I got what I wanted and I loved what Gilroy did here with so many characters. It really shows that for the rebellion to happen, many of the common people had to participate for it to work. Looking forward to Season 2.

Andor is the best thing I've seen from Star Wars ever. No lightsaber magical force stuff that evolves around that boring skywalker people. No absolute good vs evil, but rather something very logical and political, and there are extremists on both sides. Besides the Mandalorian, Andor surpasses all the other shows and movies by Lucas Film.

This show was not only original but masterfully executed. It improved A LOT about how I think about the Star Wars universe which is saying a lot considering the crap we've gotten lately. Very thankful for Andor and I hope it sets a good impression to Lucas Films/Disney of what they need to start doing with the StarWars IP.

After watching Andor I spent two weeks of just thinking about it constantly because it just affected me so much. I do agree it is up there with some of the best written shows. Unfortunately because of the Star Wars affiliation, I doubt it will never be recognised as one of the better tv shows.

I like the way the show plays with villain and hero tropes. Andor himself is kind of an asshole a lot of the time. The hero cops breaking the rules to catch the criminals… all bad guys. Then the heroic mentor comes out and delivers a flawless villain monologue while backlit like he's Vader. It's fun.

I love how they allowed Cassian to be more morally grey than your average sw protagonist. They weren’t overly concerned with making him likable necessarily. He murders in cold blood, he acts selfish, he does things for the wrong reasons and the whole time I was thinking “where the hell was this energy for Boba Fett?” Would have worked a hell of a lot better than turning him into a sanitized good guy for his own series.
