Coming to united will test your mental strength, and Onana has overcome the hate from the fans and the media. Onana will surely make a difference in the team and for the future of the club
He has not made a mistake in a while and he is regaining confidence. I am not a Man Utd supporter but i hate to see players get hate like him and maguire Edit: Thanks for the likes boy! Piin?
Exactly but kids just go to blame solely the one person, I mean although he has made big errors he’s been better and he seems more confident in him self
@@Officiallyzizou Yes, he got banned and left Ajax after it. The years before he was one of best gk talents around. He carried Ajax to multiple championships, EL final and a CL semi-final. Also at Inter he was great and carried them to a CL final.
I backed Onana from the start. I remember how De Gea was shaky ever since the World Cup with Spain. People seemed to forget how many mistakes De Gea did his last season for United. Onana is a better goalkeeper for United right now. Yes, De Gea should have gotten a propper send off, and a testimonial. He is a United legend
Not his last season.. De Gea was arguably back to his best last season, but you’re not wrong? Since the 2018 World Cup he made some awful mistakes, but man what a keeper he was, last season he got eh e most clean sheets and was back to clutching out games for us.. man I remember that game against Arsenal when he made some of the most ridiculous saves I’ve ever seen, one after the other.. De Gea at his best was arguable the best shot stopper ever.
De gea was great last season Not many mistakes I could think maybe against Barca with that pass, but it didn’t end up in a goal so it’s fine and the West Ham game. I think that was it
Onana is a world class goalie. Just look at how he performed in 18/19 Ajax or 22/23 Inter in the CL. When given the time to adapt he'll do it quick and turn out amazing. It's just United fans who don't see that
I never stopped backing him. I knew he’d be entering a really difficult situation replacing someone who’s been there for so many years. Hated the fact he’s been used as a scapegoat for everything bad this season.
I’ve always backed him. I’ve loved the signing every since it was “Here We Go”. I always believed in him, even in his darkest moments since I’ve watched him at Ajax, inter and even found a few of his Barcelona youth clips. He’s a sensational keeper who just needed to adjust. I don’t know how or why people expected him to come straight in and be spectacular, that was an idealistic view that was never going to happen. He would always need time to just but people were so quick to jump the boat which is absolutely crazy to me. My Keeper ❤️
I think Onana's criticism though fair was more jarring than it should be due to not only the legacy of which David De Gea left behind, but how sour the exit was for him at Man United. He has made woes yes and was one of the reasons Man United got dumped out of Champions League knockout, but at the end of the day, Onana is proving his worth and despite me also doubting him before, he has regained my faith in him with his good form in recent matches.
I back him his distribution is crazy And his saves are unreal every game he is Been our best his distribution helps us creating chances and his saves are great And the fact u have to be mentally fit to play for united is crazy u are scared to not Be considered a flop
I’m a United fan and at the start I was blaming him then after the last minute penalty save in the UCL he really seemed to play better and seemed to only play bad when he had had a howler in the previous game that he got hate for so under the pressure he struggled but now he has no pressure and is showing how good of a goalie he is huge respect
First Maguire, then Hojlund, now Onana also the resurgence of Mainoo. We saw many comebacks for united this season, but it still isn't enough for them to turn around their season, at best they will finish at #6. Hopefully, next season we might see a change in the club.
As much as i love Dave The Save, Onana is needed to modernise our defence. He is a mf warrior mentally, same as maguire, they actually figth for the badge to stay and do well. The “we’ll never die” mentality is why I got faith. GGMU❤
Onana has always been a good goalkeeper with great distribution, who let some gaps appear from time to time. His first months at United were an extreme version of that, but that’s kind of how he’s often been.
Onana has faced the most shots in the premier league with around 200+ and has saved around 120. with keepers like allision facing 75 to 100 only saving 50. i would always back the players but onana has been amazing.
As a united fan I do miss de Gea but I back this guy and while de gea would have been better this season because we don’t have the players around the keeper fit to play the proper style of football Onana is the future and will be great for the next couple years
I started backing him after that interview where he was talking about how he is still the same player that he was in the champions league final... And that his skills don't just disappear and that he would recover.
I never doubted him, even when team conceded goals because of his mistakes. I have seen since Angel di Maria's arrival that very few players can settle at United in current environment. The decline of Sanchez also confirmed my reservations. There are many examples like Pogba being a Balon dor contender but failed at United, Depay, Sancho, Mkhitariyn, Lukaku, Zaha, Schniederlan, Shaw, Blind and a whole list of CBs. There is something seriously wrong at United, proven world class players failed to perform.
He went from a strong defensive unite at Inter to a team that concedes 31 shots against Brentford and constantly concede a lot of chances. Two different worlds. No wonder it's taken for him time to adjust.
I’ve backed him from the start. I feel like even when he wasn’t performing he still had the confidence and determination to prove everyone wrong. He’s just the guy Man United need - both quality and mentality wise.
Granted i didn't like the way De Gea was treated however, i was not disappointed when finding out Onana was his replacement, it was always going to take time to find his feet, the issue with most fans nowadays is anything less than instant results are simply not good enough, Onana will help to lead United to great things once again, i am thankful it has only taken him 5 months to find form and not cause issues for 18 months, lets hope we can finish the season strong and with a decent preseason, give it a proper go next season
I have backed him all the way. Aswell as Ten Hag, you cant not back someone for making errors. United is a club thats hard to play for, the press will kill you if you make a small error, but great video love this ❤️
Yeah a little adjustment period is fair as long as it doesn't take too long, luckily it doesn't seem like it. Let's not forget that de Gea struggled throughout his first two seasons or so, Courtois struggled at Real Madrid in his first season and now he's widely considered to be the best GK in the world.
I respect this video saying 'Fair' criticism - As he definitely put in some horrible performances. However he's now definitely winning me over slowly and long may it continue! We're definitely rooting for him
he’s been good. but nothing will truly change until the whole structure and character of the club is reborn. trust me, as an Arsenal supporter, consistency won’t come until they fix this issue.
De gea first season at united: 39 appearances, 29 in EPL 47 goals conceded (1,58 per match), 26 in EPL (0,896 conceded/match) 137 saves (3,88 saves per match) 13 clean sheets in EPL from 29 matches (44,82%)
What i found funny was that man utd fans wanted to get rid of onana for de gea due to his poor start to his man utd career. De gea struggled like onana did for the first 6 months and got the same treatment as de gea did, yet went on to become a club legend. That's honestly the only reason i backed onana. However, we still can't deny the awful manner in which de gea was let go. He deserved so much better
i was always backing him there was a short period of time when i thought we have to move on from him asap but when i got to know the fact that this man is facing 20+ shots a game on an average and still united's worst defeat this season has been a 3-0 loss vs city it changed my decision he has to be blamed for knocking us out of the champions league but he is a good gk and in all terms a modern gk, and alongside a ball carrier like lisandro martinez he is very good
As a Man United fan, I could see this coming from a mile away. This is why football is so hard, a few mistakes and you are a global meme. Now he made the inevitable comeback and you all are backtracking.
As a man utd fan it is hard to see him gain confidence back and really he will never get to what he was at inter i also feel he underdevelpose most of the time. We need to focous on our youth more than bying worthless players and we need a manger who knows what he is doing.
The criticism wasn't fair at all. One of the best keepers last season and played unbelievably well got pelters from a fanbase that didn't understand what he was, yes he made a few mistakes but in that he still somehow had the highest save percentage in the league because United and his goal got peppered every week because Ten Hag can't setup a team to actually defend properly, he was bound to make mistakes. Also keepers like Onana are used to only making a couple saves a game not 600 saves a game because we bought him for his feet akin to Ederson who also isn't the greatest shot stopper but isn't valued for that
Onana is good it’s just when a million shots a game cos ur team can’t defend ur bound to make errors he saved everything until someon passes the ball to the other team I’m utd fan btw
People forgetting a young DDG was shacky even though he had performed well at Atletico Madrid and made the final and yes he was shacky even when he played with experienced defenders Rio, Vidic, Evra. In a good united squad too. Onana made mistakes too but people are only looking at him instead of the whole picture. Ask yourself are the defenders at the club the ones the manager want? And is the team performing well?
i do support onana but if anybody said he passed de gea.. nope im not agreeing on that.. de gea is far more better because when he found his confidence he was there 12 years and doing his "main" job perfectly
I’m more concerned about the fact that Man Utd face 20+ shots from every team they play. Glad Onana is not making howlers but this is insignificant compared to the rest of the defence
