Kendrick is highly influenced by Andre & Eminem more than the other idols of his! you can hear it in his music. even he mentioned it before in an old interview.
Saleh Zwai I would add Wayne as well. When kendrick uses his crying flow you can kind of hear the Wayne influence like on Mona Lisa. And Kendrick had a whole mixtape rapping like Wayne over carter 3 beats
U can definitely hear it with Andre’s verse on Sorry and Kendrick verse on Stay Ready with Jhene. Sherane is just Kendricks version of a life in the day of Benjamin Andre
He’s my favorite. Over everyone else including Eminem. Elevators is one of the greatest songs ever written in my opinion. He’s just different. His accented, gorgeous southern flow and his unorthodox cadence and switch flow, his incredible, metaphoric and poetic, philosophical lyrics, then he’ll switch to straightforward bars with stellar vocabulary, and alliteration for days which are all just part of what he does in spectacular fashion w/ a skill set that’s second to none. His unique storytelling ability, his eclectic mind and unique perspective, his creativity in mixing jazz and classic r&b sounds with hip hop all while being a multi instrumentalist and composer, makes him the hip hop equivalent of Prince IMO. He’s distinctive, a nonconformist, a true artist. He’s a lyrical and musical genius, which is a word I use exceedingly sparingly. But in the case of Andre, it’s 💯 appropriate and earned. Just love him. LOVE him. Miss Outkast a lot. The genre needs Andre. He’s truly unique, a master of his craft, and one of a kind. Hopefully he’ll return some day. ATLiens FOREVER ❤️
I love Andre's delivery, it's amazing how he says all this amazing bars like it's nothing. He sells you that impression than rapping this clever is easy to him.
Love 3 stacks. This is not only one of andres greatest verses, it’s one of the greatest verses ever recorded. I’ll never tire of this shit. So glad you reacted to this, especially for your viewers who have never heard it.
Sorry for the language but I am so fucking glad that someone has give shine to this legendary verse. We can debate top 5 all we want but this is one of the top verses of all time. The way he use symbolism all the way through the verse and use his literary devices is just so dope. VERY UNDERRATED!!!!
The first rap song I heard was 'Hey Ya!' on some evening TV show in Sweden. I was probably 6-7, and it was so stuck in my head that I knew exactly where I had heard it when I got to 17-18, got into rap, and stumbled over it again. Andre really is an amazing combination of sound and meaning in his raps. Great video as always.
How have I just seen your channel? I’m from the UK. The way you break down the bars and actually give them credit is absolutely phenomenal. The best Break-Down-Reaction I’ve seen so far. Genuinely a very smart guy, that understands smart bars. Keep on brother
I’ve watched you grow in confidence and enthusiasm with your videos just by watching your intro. You show a true passion for this music breakdown and we, especially me, enjoy your videos and your personality is just awesome. I don’t ever comment on videos but just wanted to throw some love your way cause I know you work hard and I wanna let you know you have a lot of people who appreciate you bro
Thank you for this breakdown. That was one of the best analysis' of a verse I've ever watched. I loved your passion in this one. You can tell this was something personal you were sharing with us! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damn I stumbled upon this bar breakdown and you actually gave me some insight as to why Andre is so great. I always regarded Andre as top 10 based on the media, but you really showed me why. I'll always be open to hearing more Andre 3000 break downs from you. Thanks
Just heard this song randomly on Spotify, and it blew my mind. Andre is unique, like what Anderson paak and kendrick would sound like combined into one person.
“Flipper didn’t hold his nose” is likely a reference to how a dolphin that had played Flipper in the t.v. show became depressed and according to her trainer, committed suicide in his arms . Seems like commentary on the consequences of capturing and keeping a highly sentient critter. The dolphin did the only thing thing she had a choice over. Since the only way he has to make a difference is to open his mouth and say what he has to say, even if the consequences are severe. Like if he kept his head down and did what he’s told, he could make it by longer. But that’s no kinda life
I’m guilty of watching just your Em videos and that’s clearly been my loss. This was a great video and I’m so glad I’ve now been exposed to Andre beyond OutKast. It’s clear how much you respect him and it made this so engaging.
Just wanted to say knight, it's been an awesome journey to watch you barely catch bars but then turn into one of the best on youtube and to see how much more you appreciate apex level writing, just great to watch.
Hey bro, appreciate you. Normally when I see a vid on here is 25min, I’m like “uh”… that’s long but man… this was in-depth, eye-opening and reflective. I’m a product of the hood (Cape Flats, Hood in Cape Town, South Africa) and this breakdown and lyrics slowed me to reflect on the environment I came from to me relative ascendency to where I am now in life. But more how can we as those who rose out of that environment can guide those that’s coming after us. I agree with you “don’t settle for what ain’t yours”… that is a layered line/bar. Sheet… André is one of thee lyricists but also how to translate it on a track and cause us to relate and understand. Keep it up bro…”I have so much to say” after listening to this. Peace and blessings brother 👊🏾
Thanks for opening up my eyes my dude, glad ya listened to me on that. His flow is insane and the wordplay is crazy, but also soulful and shit on top of it, I can see why Em calls him one of the goats🔥🔥🔥
When I first heard Come Home all I kept saying is I can hear Andre and this sounds like something Andre would rap on. When he started rapping I actually started crying
Stevie, you've been putting out so much content lately, don't know how you keep up the momentum but I hope the loyal support you're building is worth the effort - we appreciate it man, you're getting to have a sweet back catalogue of vids, perfectly diverse.
Andre is my favorite rapper ever and I've heard this song so many times but you pointed out so many things that went over my head. This verse is ridiculous. Thanks for the breakdown man
Love Outkast! Andre 3000 is amazing. Aquemini album was on repeat in my 20s. Just started listening to Yelawolf this year and you can easily see how they paved the way for him on some tracks.
I agree, I love how everybody flips out with over his cadence because I'm one of those people too lol but then I went back to his first verse and realized how deep that thang was and told myself, "I've been sleep all my life..." smh love 3 stacks man
Stevie Knight! Been here since your first NF reaction. Andre is insane. Im born and raised in South Carolina. Southernplayalistic dropped when i was 12. Hes definitely in my top 5. Keep grinding man. Much love.
Man, I'm italian and your videos help me so much in better understanding these masterpieces. It may be the language or the different culture but a lot of bars always go over my head.
Been waiting on this! 3K is a monster. This was one of the first verses I heard of him and this sole verse flipped me on my head about Em being GOAT (Em still is to me). There's just so much in this track
I started watching reaction channels for entertainment but you stand out to me because it feels like I’m in a class session when watching your videos, you’re wise and like looking at the deeper meaning when others just judge the face value entertainment factor. Thank you for that, much respect
Now that I know you get down with Andre3000 like that (I do too) I'd love to see you break down his verses on Aquemeni and Synthesizer from the Aquemeni album. I'll never forget the day I bought that CD and sat in my bedroom and listened to the whole thing front to back in pure amazement.
That intro is simple, per se, but it's so fucking vivid. He puts you right there walking beside him as teenagers dealing with life. Nobody tells a story like 3k.
I only have the Aquemeni album (easily one of the top 5 albums of all time to me) as well as Speakerbox/The Love Below album. He's in my top 5, and I'm sure he has a lot more material I haven't heard. You could do a series on him as far as I'm concerned.
This was the first time I heard 3Stacks. This track influenced my writing in a huge way. OutKast as a whole for sure, but this was my intro to that whole side of rap.
I didn't see anyone mentioning the line Hell is 3000 degrees colder also meaning that Hell has frozen over cause 3 Stacks wasn't supposed to make it! Also, on a side note, it is pretty cool to watch you breakdown a song that you feel so passionately about!
Great reaction bro. Your the only reactor that catches 90 % of the bars correctly. I would appreciate it if you could react to drag on chokem freestyle. Thanks
I used to have this on my tracklist, but I only listened to it with my ears.Never put much thought into it.Won't front, I always wrote 3 Stacks off as an "Artsy Fartsy" cat. This is my first time actually listening to one of his verses broke down like this.My mind is blown. The level of thought put into this verse is just indescribable.Cotdamn! He's top 5 just off this verse alone.
Yo love Kast bro.. I live in Ohio but I used to listen to everyone growing up esp Kast.. I love Return of the Gangsta.. hell who am I kidding I love all their stuff but that song is hard... Def would love to hear more Last and down south period.. Love the channel homie
Bro you need to do a full Atliens album breakdown.....in my humble opinion, the best Outkast album, both Andre 3000 and Big Boi go hard on that whole album.
the camera and papapa line around 22:25, could be the way he lived in the hood the cameras are guns and his ptsd of all the gunshots from his younger years
Aquemini my favorite OutKast song ridiculous lyric wise & 3-stacks rhymes on it Em tier rhymin & im a Em fan…Thts how good it is in my eyes…16 bars is good but I always prefer Aquemini prolly more of a beat preference than lyric thing but @StevieKnight how u compare them..? The “Tudors” “Tutors” is a double bc Tudors we’re a family of bankers from Florence & they were involved in everything back in that time…crazy that’s as good as Machiavelli play on words
There’s a tweet from Em a few months ago that linked to a helluva conversation about Hiphop between Rick Rubin and Andre. He talks about everything you should check it out sometime.
Andre goes haaard! You should listen to some Lupe Fiasco aswell, that kid is talented I'm sure you'll appreciate it. "Hurt me soul" a good one to start with!
