@TrevorEMayo
@TrevorEMayo 2 месяца назад
@@ticesevradero If the point isn't to gain clicks and curry the favor of fellow players by distorting the truth then maybe I have missed it. Both of these guys know the truth about Allen because they played with him. You notice how when asked about how it was to play with AI in another portion of the interview they avoided directly answering the question. Answering truthfully and completely wouldn't have been helpful to their branding. They know the real issue with Iverson was not the practice facility situation these two click baiters are trying to spew. Many of the media at the particular infamous press conference were aware of why AI missed that particular practice. The question wasn't really asked because of that miss. The question was asked because AI throughout his career continually missed practices and undermined his coaches authority. This behavior was the reason Larry Brown wanted to trade him the summer before the 2001 Finals and the reason he was eventually unloaded several years later. But fully fleshing out the AI story wouldn't be good for Melo's and Iggy's branding.

@@ChuckTay23 Absolute nonsense. The 76ers during the Iverson years suffered the same fate as Embiid's teams today. The team made many terrible draft choices and therefore had to fill out the roster with higher priced vets who pushed the spending up against the salary cap without providing enough talent. In three consecutive years after Iverson's rookie season Philly did the following - picked Van Horne instead of McGrady, picked Hughes instead of Nowitzki or Pierce, picked MacCulloch instead of Ginobli. You can't win titles if you can't draft. Igoudala had the good fortune of playing on a team with three future HOFers who were all being paid much less than they were worth because they were on cheap contracts early in their careers after being drafted. Most people would have never heard of Iggy if the Warriors had not drafted well.

Like folks hear the story, but they still dont get what they are saying. Think about how much time Kobie spent in the practice facility to perfect his game. At all kinds of hours of the night and days of week. Think about how much Curry says he shots in the practice facility on his shot. He lives in the facility. Now take all that away from both of those players...does their game evolve as much as it did with that type of access. Melo told you that once AI got access to an actual facility just for themselves, AI shooting % went up. Its absolutely crazy that he took a team to the NBA finals, and they couldn't really get extra work in. It's amazing that he had the career he did when not actually having the resources the other great players had.
@TrevorEMayo
@TrevorEMayo 3 месяца назад
All of that is totally ridiculous. Iverson's shooting percentage went up because in Denver he was actually playing with other players the opponents had to guard. His percentages were down in Philly because for most of his time there he was playing with no one who could create their own shot (Iggy was one of those offensively deficient players), and so AI forced shots. A lot of bad shots.

The Sixers practice facility predicament was the product of the ownership situation. Up until the mid 90s the Flyers and the Sixers were separately owned. Then a massive deal was struck where Comcast bought both clubs and placed the Flyers owner in charge of both franchises. The Sixers were always a lower priority for the ex-Flyers owner who was now in charge. The basketball team did not get it's own practice facility till new owners bought the Sixers from Comcast.

This is what people don't understand - that some teams don't care about winning only about making money. Also, some teams have so many advantages that it is not even fair at times from practice to coaching and to healthcare - meaning your medical staff - etc. Could you imagine from they are saying to AI and Lebron making it to the finals against franchises like the Lakers and the Spurs lol

Igoudala is lying his ass off about Philly not trying to win. Philly was incompetent yes, but they did not start to lose on purpose till he left. Management incompetence led to the team being filled with high priced players who had little left in the tank during much both Iverson's and Igoudala's years.

Pat Croce did not control the money. Ed Snider controlled the money for the Sixers and the Flyers who were both owned by Comcast. The Sixers were Ed's red-headed stepchildren. The Flyers were his pride and joy. Snider didn't begin to pay attention to the Sixers until Croce quit after not being given Snider's job. By that time Iverson's career in Philly was almost over.

@@TeddyMccrayArtist NOT TRUE!! He was not canned. He QUIT because they would not give him the job he wanted. There are so many folks listening to the nonsense being spewed by Iggy and Melo on this topic and believing it.
