Oh I love bagpipes too, this made me proud to be Scottish but made me cry too. Scotland needs to return to Jesus christ. We used to be known as Bible Loving Scotland
wow! You can say that again! There's nothing like them scottish pipers. They shure did frighten the "I be jesuss" out of the krauts. They make MY heart stop, for heaven's sake!
Freuen uns schon riesig drauf.
How great it is that “ Amazing Grace” is a blessing gift from God that unites the hearts of people believing in the existence of God just as “ One” forever and ever ❤
I was in a pipe band as a teen and it is difficult to climb stairs while playing a drum. These band members were flawless - and didn't miss a beat or a note! I still tear up hearing the pipes and especially on Amazing Grace. Beautifully arranged as always by Andre Rieu.
I'm glad you mentioned that. All of them have tremendous strength to play and climb those stairs. They were seated in the upper tier in the center so they had to descend those steps as well.
This video has been a great comfort for me after losing 3 members of my family to Covid in 30 days, the music brings the tears and helps sooth my aching heart
You know you know it's a shame a lot more people don't know the words Scotland the brave it's quite moving song in and of itself I live in New Orleans and during Mardi gras when the Scots band it's going by I pass out papers with the words so people can sing
I was born in Canada and I'm immensely proud of that but the Scottish blood that pumps through my veins by virtue of my late great mother makes me so f**king proud when I hear the bagpipes Saor Alba
I can watch this 1,000 times and every single time it makes me cry uncontrollably!!! When they strongly crescendo at the last verse of Amazing Grace, OMG, it just goes straight to my heart and very core of my being!!! Love those pipes, the orchestra and Andre!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I have loved bagpipes all my life, but this is AMAZING. I am from Gibraltar where we have always loved military parades where we used to have Pipers from Scotland. Long live the Pipers and the parades. Greetings from Gibraltar.
My dad was fan of Scotland more in love use to travel to Scotland with the youth hostels listened to the pipes and drums when we were kids and now as where older we have took is place love been a fan off the pipes and drums thank you
My word goose pimples isn’t the word fantastic sound of everyone especially the pipe band with Scotland the brave🏴 I loved when Andre saluted the band leader when he entered the stage absolutely brilliant ❤️🏴😊👍
This was my dad's favourite tune, he had three strokes and was took away by sepsis, everytime after each stroke when he was home he had Andre on, he had so much love for him and his music. Amazing grace was his chosen piece of music at his funeral. Absolutely love you Andre for making dad feel comfortable and happy, your music will always be in our hearts and sou X
Lost my dad also buddy….nothing but love for him. Now he’s up there with my mom and sister Also with his parents. Both our dads still watch us. Hang in there
I am Scottish and love the bagpipes and drums and music in general....this version of amazing grace has to be the best ever.,,,would bring a tear to a glass eye....beautiful.
I would like to dedicate this which is so beautifully played in memory of Queen Elizabeth II buried on the 19/9/2022 and all who have lost loved ones , gone but not forgotten...
Scotland the Brave, one of the best to hear from bagpipes. Amazing Grace, lovely to hear on those bagpipes to honor those who have served in our Armed Forces of the UK and the US.
I'll bet that when the British marched into Paris in 1944 they had bagpipers and drummers playing Scotland the brave and when the citizens of Paris heard them they wepped with joy as their long nightmare was finally over.
This is the standard that every rendition should be judged by. A complete river is draining out of my eyes So thankful this is back on RU-vid. Truly, the perfect rendition
Omg that was really beautiful. It brought me to tears. I love Scotland the Brave. What a fantastic rendition of this beautiful hymn. Bravo. From an Aussie Fan.
It brings me to tears every time. This is actually a combination of Scotland the Brave and Amazing Grace...two grander songs do not exist. Look up the story about the author of the words to Amazing Grace and then listen. It is so humbling how we forget who we really are. We are blind but through Him, we can see.
So glad to see this video is back up on RU-vid. i was lost when it was taken down. I listen to this every time I visit RU-vid. I wish so much that I could have been there at this performance !!!
This is exactly like what I experienced in Birmingham Arena a few years back. I was moved to tears. It was quite simply an out of this world experience. We got the best seats and it’s up there as being very close to heaven. Saw then here in Dublin Ireland too. I would like to see them in Maastricht too. Hopefully some day when all this respiratory disease is under control.
What a magnificent tune and what a great show of respect to the Pipe Major and tatoo with a hand salute. Most excellent tunes by most excellent musicians

Andre Rieu, in this one presentation, brings together both the martial and religious greatness of Western Civilization, most particularly the mighty Anglo-sphere. What army would not fail but to be terrorized by massed Scottish "Pipes and Drums" and an opposing army drawn from the cream of the British Isles. Even Napoleon shuttered at their sound. Perhaps only the Polish king Jan Sobieski's Winged Hussars could match the Scots for terrifying battle sounds. Then, what heart cannot help but to be melted by the lyrical Amazing Grace and its beautiful message of God's love for humanity. This is a tour de force at every level. You can see the audience is profoundly moved.
To hear the notes of Scotland the Brave coming at you across a battlefield is a sound no enemy of the Scottish would ever, ever, want to hear. Because it means they are coming. And they are angry. Amazing Grace is a deeply moving song, even more so on the bagpipes. Truly, the instrument was made for just such a powerful piece. Intense emotion invoked in elegant form to convey that sweet, sweet message that the Almighty loves us and offers us shelter and comfort in His arms. I’m American, but my ancestors hailed from Kent and the Scottish Lowlands and I continue to hold a deep, abiding affection for those beautiful lands. I agree this performance encapsulates the finest martial and religious legacies of the West brilliantly.
Amazing Grace by John Newton (1779) Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound) That sav'd a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears reliev'd; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believ'd! Thro' many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. The Lord has promis'd good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures. Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease; I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, who call'd me here below, Will be forever mine.
I was borned and raised in Edinburg, Tx. My maternal grandmother's maiden was Ramsey. I absolutely love Scottish bag bands from the very first time I remember hearing one. I believe that I must have been a Scottsman in one of past lives.
Having Scottish grandparents and family whilst being British. This rendition makes me so proud to be part of both and has got me through many hard times. ❤️
