I don't really think that Andrea sang this song for people to determine whose version is best. I think it was a tribut to Elvis and nothing more. Andrea made it his own but no one can copy Elvis and I really do not believe he tried to take anything away from Elvis. It's a beautiful song and only 2 people can sing it with such a passion.

And I won't get into the upbeat or 'modernized' versions. Elvis, himself, had a voice that could have sung opera (and in fact did hit operatic notes--It's Now Or Never and Surrender are examples). Bocelli, an opera singer, was able to latch onto and feel the sweet lullaby nature of this song rather than kill its tender, emotional delicacy.

My dad when he was going through radiotherapy would listen to this amazing beautiful singer Mr Andrea Bocelli to help him through. He sadly lost his battle in 2016 age 69 thank you for you beautiful music that my dad loved and my late mum too. I keep that going for them both they gave me many things. I am 41 and still understand beautiful music and what the songs mean. And i Appreciation for love too. I hope everyone has that in life. Stay safe everyone. X
