God said. "I'm going to screw your eyes up but in return I'm going to give you one of the greatest voices in the world. We are all winners from that statement. The most amazing singer of the last fifty years.
More than the greatest love the world has known This is the love I'll give to you alone More than the simplest words I try to say I only live to love you more each day More than you'll never know my arms long to hold you so My life will be in your keeping, waking, sleeping, laughing, weeping Longer than always is long long time But far beyond forever you'll be mine I know I never lived before and my heart is very sure No one else could love you more I know I never lived before and my heart is very sure No one else could love you more

I am 56 years old and have known this song since childhood. Just could not recall by whom. So I punched up Matt Munro who I remembered. Then the Chairman Sinatra. Then I saw Bocelli and was blown away. That man can sing. Wow! Now you will make me listen to Williams. Beautiful song indeed. I listened to Andy Williams version. I totally agree with you but Frank's is my favorite version simply because of the swing style. Andy, Andrea and Matt have the sweeter voices. Matt's is my second favorite and then Andrea. Unbiasedly though Andy's version is the best.
The definitive version of this song has not yet been sung. Bobby Darin is cocky uptempo but superficial. Frank is wooden. Vic is soulful but not enough punch. Matt is too measured. This is nice, but once again not enough passion and punch. I'm still shopping (and singing it myself). (Not that Andrea is not a great singer, he surely is one of the greatest, particularly on the classical-jazz-and-Latin end -- but this song requires conviction and passion -- which it is to be admitted he delivers somewhat at the end -- and not a phone-in). There's not enough, pain, passion, and longing in any rendition I have heard so far in one of the most beautiful songs of longing I have ever heard.
More Mondo caine The definitive version of this song has been sung by KATYNA RANIERI the composer wife ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n0v5q2N3UNw.html
Joseph it's a great tune I think the definitive version has been done, by the fella you first mentioned . there's nothing cocky and superficial about Bobby Darin,s taking of the tune, it's a great voice, a great arrangement, what's not to like.
All of his TV work is instrumental playback. The drummer misses a number of fills here, even drops a stick, and there is far too much horn sound for only 3 pieces.
