DWCS 68 winner Andreas Gustafsson talks to MMA Junkie and other reporters after being awarded a UFC contract from Dana White for his TKO victory on Tuesday in Las Vegas. Full event coverage: mmajunkie.usat... #DWCS #UFC
This guy is a monster and should already have been in the UFC along time ago. He was supposed to fight Khamzat in Sweden but the fight got cancelled due to Khamzat getting injured. The next time they were booked to fight, Bane suffered a heavy concussion in training and the fight had to be cancelled once again. Andreas Gustafsson is THE prospect from Sweden.
@@jonde4445 I don't know what fight you were looking at but he dominated every minute of that fight. He is a greco roman elite wrestler and has been wrestling since he was 6 y/o. He is a pure bred Swedish Viking that has been doing combat sports for a loooooong time. He displayed elite level MMA last night.
@@jonde4445 He has wrestled since he was 6 years old, switched to mma 6 years ago. He likes to bleed, and he likes violence, not tapping people out. He can wrestle and grapple, but just like Sean Strickland he chooses his fists instead, except Strickland is a snoozefest, and Andreas has a crazy chin.
@@jonde4445 Relax a bit, you sound like a casual to say this and that would happen yada yada. Overall it was a brutal beatdown and impressive performance and who knows what happens in next fight. Its MMA.
I'm also Swedish, and when I close my eyes he sounds just like Alexander Gustafsson. The voice, accent, the hesitation in speaking sometimes since English isn't their first language. But who cares, we have another prospect from Sweden in the UFC. Now we just need the UFC to come back here, it's been waaaaaaaaay too long.
He had a a very impressive performance, high pressure clinch looking for nasty elbows and knees. However, I believe he got clipped in the first round. fighting high level strikers might be worrisome.
@@edmundvalero6841 Now that he does not have to work on his normal job anymore, he can sharpen his striking skills and defense. The margin for errors in UFC are so small though but he fought a guy with 9 wins all by knockouts and never let him get started. Crazy cardio as well .
Bane is the real deal! this has been a long time coming . Followed him for a while. A real good human and hard worker outside of the ring .. and an absolute monster in the cage.
It´s actually not "Batman Bane", in sweden "Bane" is an old word for something like a murderer, but a better translation would be "someone who slowly kills you by applying physical and psychological pressure and infecting and poisoning your wounds". And as you can see, "bane" is a good shortening for that!=)
@@danielgunnarsson226 Bane means like "cause of violent death" or someones undoing. If you're someones "bane" it means you are the reason they die. But it's not specified to a person, it can also be an object, disease and event etc. When it is specifically a person, the word is baneman. Det är ett jävla svåröversatt begrepp, men i stort sett betyder det ett skäl till att någon dör av onaturliga skäl. Kan också i vardagligt tal till varför något går åt helvete.
He's only 33. lol I mean...I know that is on the older side when starting in the UFC, but I think they will move him quickly to see where he is at comparative to the rest if the UFC WW division
