He is the Best , With a Heart Of Gold .. I am Soul inspired... feel So blessed , to Know this Being of Light... I Aspired to Play this Way.May be in my next LIfe... As I am getting Closer to the LIght....
I have seen him a few times and at an autograph signing in Boston after a concert at Scullies...I just about burst into tears when I shook his hand..I was so moved to meet this man who has given me so much joy through his talent. All I can say is that there was so much love and kindness in his eyes that I could not even speak. He has an enormous heart that is beyond this world.
He plays on her harp strings...Reason Enough...Fantastic Live Performance and Production of Eolian Minstrel....Love It...Many Blessing to Andreas, Eliza and all the musicians...Fantastic Job.
This is WONDERFUL. This album is a masterpiece. Love it so much. I got to know about Eliza by listening to this album and now she is one of my favorite singers. With every vibratto/falsetto I can't help but feel shivers.
i could never go see something like this in person..I would literally pass out..I dont mind listening to Andreas,as a matter of fact i bought one of his cd's when i was around 18ish. Never bought music like that before and bought a couple other cd's that were like this or new age?..I was always more into rap,r&b,dance, hiphop, pop, and even later rock,metal,etc..but i always had a fascination for Andreas cd i had..Think its caverna of magic or something like that..It just intrigued me..
Thank you for uploading this. I've listened to this album a lot, and my dream would be to see it live. But I don't think it will ever be possible, they're getting old, and I'm not on the same continent 😞 So for now this will give me a glimpse of what it could be like.
When Johnny Carson was hosting the Tonight Show he would have Andres vollenweider on a couple of times but I don't think he ever interviewed him which kind of puzzled me and disappointed me
When this album came out, I was convinced I’d hate it. No vocals, please. What are you doing!? But I loved Eliza’s voice. And the lyrics were beautiful. I wished every song had her vocals on it
Longtime vollenweider listener ( and friend ) and while it is a good album, the vocals pretty much lost a good chunk of vollenweider's fan base whom were there from the very beginning. However, he made up for this album with Kryptos. Unfortunatly, kryptos, Tales of Kira Kutan and Wolkenstein are the end of the highly visual vollenweider "Mind Movies" era. Im just happy i was there and deeply attracted to the music as it was happening. None of my friends knew who vollenweider was back then.
I also didn't really get it initially but its clear to me now how good her voice is and the lyrics. Sometimes I hear a bit of Joni Mitchell in her voice.
I think that's because Eliza's voice is her instrument and it blends perfectly with the other instruments. When I listened to this album for the first time (just about a couple of months ago) I was blown away about this sort of sophisticated and fresh new form of pop music. Her voice also reminds me of Tori Amos but Eliza has her own unique stuff going. Amazing.
Jack Sprat hello from Germany! Oh yes! I was rather surprised about Elizy G. to perform with Vollenweider, as I know her from quite a lot of Cds she has recorded over the years, being herself as a singer/songwriter.....and daughter of one of the most famous songwriters for Disneyfilms, like the „Junglebook“, her Dad wrote „The Bear Necessities“......
Well meaning but unsuccessful: what thought comes to me if I hear AV doing songs (with lyrics)...he is a bit of an Eolian minstrel, but not on his record called Eolian minstrel because he did lyrics, together with the American woman singer here. But the opening song of Isolde is nevertheless effective in its simplicity.
I actually liked the 1st & 2nd incarnations of FM much better. Liked Buckingham - Nicks album much better than FM with B & N, too. I must be "Old School"! She looks like young Joni Mitchell. Sounds better than Stevie. Stevie had a shitty vibrato or tremolo!!!
Quite agree Mike, the ORIGINAL and best FM were far superior to the post 75 line -up. My comment was centred on the fact that i don't understand why AV was going down the M.O.R route. He is one of the finest 'ambient' new age musicians in the world and is just wasted on this mushy rubbish.
Exactly! I got AV when In The Garden first came out. MOR was the term I had lurking in the back of my mind for the later FM sound. Lucky to have a college radio station nearby in Central Wisconsin, this far out in the sticks!!! I always thought AV looked like he belonged in REO Speedwagon!
