@@pirate4531 because mixed pairs already exist for the purpose. If you put two men together, I expect them to perform things a man and a woman wouldn't be able to perform. For example, both men acting alternatively as porteur and agile. Here the smaller man does the exact same things a woman would do.
@@idraote No, not really. They do pretty different things actually. In balance exercises most of the elements are done on one arm on the head of the base and in dynamic exercises some elements are a bit different as well. Also, it would be pretty stupid to say that since one discipline exists, another one shouldn't. If you argued that way, you would say that since they do mostly similar elements, women's pairs would also be unnecessary, which they aren't. Some men or boys are rather fitted to be tops, and some are more fitted to be bases. It's nice to have a discipline that fits that. No one ever says it's required to have every discipline represented in every club or anything so why not

Why should two men replicate what already exists instead of creating something new, interesting and specific to the fact that it is two men performing and not a mixed couple? Only because there are smaller men who woudn't be able to perform as a porteur? A bit of original and creative thinking to push boundaries is needed, not a boring, uninspiring replica.
