Juts checked my collection of Guitar Archive publications - It is the Rondo in C Major (Opus 22). It is usually graded at Intermediate Level - but of course Segovia gets the Diploma for his performance here !

Most likely Folks that believe a guitar should sound like a piano Or more mechanical timing In which Segovia’s musicianship Was a living thing in itself Not romantic, as many wish to believe But rather how the instrument is capable of expressing, and should be expressed Unlike a metronomical time piece How folks can’t comprehend this aspect of the instrument itself is shocking on its own. Long live the great master’s Lazarus like Interpretation/s.

My mom saw him in his last years I didn't tag along. But I will say videos of him from the 70's...I have to agree with you. He simply wasn't playing at this 66' level.

I strongly disagree As did Segovia himself It is not as simple as just stating that it is his “old ways” Or “romantic style” Absolutely not It is showing the true size and scale of sound possibilities of the instrument itself And in that Segovia is the great master Timeless Unfortunately Segovia never really taught right hand technique Which as he would say Is genetically necessary As are the strong yet flexible nails Given by mother nature For with out these things The dream collapses Same can be said for the rarity Of one guitar in a luthiers lifetime of work Is what it takes to “speak” the range of tones and sound to create the magic Mechanical timing And hand positioning will never create the “talent” it takes To speak through the guitar As the great master did And consistently
