I love looking through these comments of “you’re gonna be on broadway some day” now knowing he just got cast as Evan Hansen. He looks and sounds perfect for the role I can’t wait for him on Broadway
This kid is perfect for Evan. Don’t get me wrong Ben Platt was absolutely astonishing. But this guy’s an actual teenager and you can tell plus his voice and emotion is amazing. His physical characteristics are perfect for Evan too. I can’t believe the new cast will have at least two teenagers in it. It’s amazing and makes me wonder what I’m doing with my life lol.
He has an incredible voice, but more so, his interpretation at the song has so much real emotion. Not that others don’t, but it just seems very realistic. His physicality, breathing, and sound effect his acting. I’ve very excited to see how he plays Evan.
I really like his cover. He was able to sing the song really well, obviously, but the acting was really what got me. Andrew combined the anxiety and loneliness that George Salazar was able to portray and the anger and feelings of betrayal of Will Roland’s take on the song. Really well done, dude.
This makes me want to cry because of the raw emotions and how angry and vulnerable and sad he gets. The acting is almost unreal, and by that I mean its like he's not acting at all but rather he is Michael Honestly, I love this version more than the original because of those things. I really hope he does more covers in the future and I'm really glad I stumbled across this video. I just know he's gonna go far; whether he's on Broadway or in Hollywood movies. Also, that run at 4:54 has me weak.
Reine I agree I kinda feel like being an actual teen has a play in the way he sings the song and portrays Micheal as teen anxiety can differ from adult and they are rather angrier at themselves then sad for what’s happened
Every time he hit the wall or his voice would crack (and he still sound amazing like wtf?) I wanted to cry because it had so much emotion. This boy is a gift to the world honestly.
you can always tell who has dealt with a panic attack when they sing this song. there's a raw painful place they tap into Especially at the "knock knock part" you can tell that Andrew here has some sort of experience with them. listen to how his voice get's scratchier in that part. it's so raw.
coming back to this after introducing my friends to him via No Hard Feelings... i remember having a MASSIVE crush on him when he put this out, so glad others are getting to appreciate this super talented guy😭
The fact that he can portray a panic attack so accurately while singing absolutely gorgeously gives me so much hope for the speech before You Will Be Found where Evan drops his cards & is awkwardly stumbling on the ground, when Connor asks Evan if he fell or let go, & of course Words Fail. Love you Andrew💙
It's amazing how much Andrew has improved! Ever since his role as Evan in DEH, he's been unbelievable polished and impressive and GOD His voice is just so expressive!
Even from this video to your Jimmy awards win, wow Major improvement and AWESOME improvement (Not that you weren't good here, you just got even better dang)
When you actually cry watching someone act so well. Great job, that’s such a difficult song to sing. You were honestly fantastic and thank you for being so talented🖖🏼
Absolutely love this cover! You really capture the emotions of this song and you did an astonishing performance! Would love to see more from be more chill, or one from Spring Awakening or anything else!
