Andrew Garfield Is SO Relieved That He Can Stop Lying About NoWayHome More from Entertainment Tonight: / @entertainmenttonight Exclusives from #EntertainmentTonight : • NEW From Entertainment...
I’m so damn happy for him. Not only because he got to play Spider-Man again but because I can only imagine the stress he has been under for the past year and a half.
@@lilboat223 do you know the kind of legal trouble he would’ve been in if he even hinted it? Disney would literally hire guys strap Andrew down and bash his balls in with a baseball bat.
I liked Andrew’s portrayal of adult (aka Bugle employee age) Spider-Man. But his script and setting were a little lackluster, and his Peter Parker wasn’t as well developed before the second film. NWH fleshed out his character growth as both Peter and Spider-Man, and if he gets his own trilogy film I hope the director can let him shine based on this growth. Tobey is the better adult Peter, bringing out the motivations and personality behind the mask. He also had a script that balanced lighthearted fun and serious villain interactions. Baby face Tom is better average at both teen Petey and teen Spidey, which makes him a more believable character, and has the glorious backdrop of the MCU.
@@LocalMaple His character was not well developed because Sony and the producers cancelled the third film. You can clearly see in TASM 2 that they were setting up new stories for his character (His dad, relationship with Aunt May, etc.). For the little time they had, I'd say Marc Webb did a pretty good job. Tobey was good because he actually had a complete trilogy. Yes, Spider-Man 4 was also cancelled, but his character arc was already finished by the third film. Tom's character is honestly mediocre, it seems like he's just there for comic relief. Homecoming was about taking responsibility but we've already seen that in the other movies, Far From Home felt like it was about Iron Man's legacy and not as Spider-Man's own, it seemed like a continuation for Endgame, and NWH was alright, but only because the other Spider-Men were there. Overall, Tobey > Andrew > Tom.
dude, you gotta be an idiot not to recognize Tobey and Andrew and a complete moron for having them IN PERSON IN THE SAME THEATER YOU ARE WATCHING THE MOVIE AND NOT TAKING A PICTURE WITH THEM!
@@alfredowaltergutierrezmald834 i mean shit if there were thousands of ppl wearing the spiderman mask itll be pretty hard to tell if theyre both wearing it too...
honestly now that he is open about it. i honestly can't wait for him to go all out with his character if he actually returns, especially considering how it has been a secret and how he was juggling with tick tick boom
tbh he's a great actor, the direction of those movies was way more gritty and dark so just didn't suit the character. At least with NWH he got to play the character the way he wanted
I can only imagine their reactions to people yelling when Tobey/Andrew popped up on the screen after Ned opened the portals.. must've been such a good warm feeling inside.
He definitely feels like the middle child out of the three Spider-men. Tobey is like the big brother with the most experience and often remembered by many while Tom is like the youngest sibling who's getting all the attention and special treatment that he can. Finally, there's Andrew, who's often ignored and over-shadowed by his brothers yet despite all that, he still has a talent that only now being recognized by many.
which is a weird shame, since he's easily the best actor out of the three with the best films under his belt (Fincher, Scorsese, Gibson).....yet his Spiderman films are the worst :(
@bluemingsoul the werewolf is a game famous in England where you have to trick the other players into believing u not the werewolf but they need to sniff you out
Oh, that line: "I love you guys!" That moment of just feeling brotherhood and support for such a lonely version of Peter Parker. He seemed so lost compared to the other two, like he never really recovered from losing Gwen, just retreated further and further into himself. Everything about their portrayals was so good, layered and subtle. You got a real feeling of the different roads essentially the same person could go down and end at such different places, but still, at the core, have that same goodness and that same nature to them. For instance, in the first moment, Andrew-Peter and Tom-Peter have the exact same reaction to Tobey-Peter having organic webbing. But then Tom-Peter quickly refocuses (used to having and listening to friends) while Andrew-Peter stays lost in thought about the how does he do and why can't I do it and what else is different and all the rest. Someone has to strongly grab his attention to pull him out of his own head. Same shock, same curiousness, different way of relating to people. (Side note: the "does it just come out of your wrists, or does it come out of . . . other places" line is absolute comedy gold. It's basically the "how do I shot web?" meme, a spinneret joke, a Spider-Babe reference (perhaps unintentional) and a "web fluid" double entendre joke all rolled into one line).
I hope the screening him and Tobey saw was a vocal one - I cannot imagine how special it must feel to have a theatre full of people screaming in excitement for the character you play YEARS after you last did it (and screaming for the people playing the characters too, of course!)
Since Venom is not going to be in the MCU, people were theorizing that Tom Hardy’s Venom would go back to the “wrong” universe (the one with Andrew). Venom said he was going to New York to find Spider Man, and Andrew’s Spider Man said he never got to fight an alien unlike the other two.
I just love him so much. He got such a raw deal from Sony and so much undeserved hate from the fans for something he had ZERO control over. Andrew is an outstanding actor and he was so committed to and passionate about the Spider-Man role. It's not his fault those idiot Sony executives couldn't keep their noses out of the creative process and in the boardroom where they belong. It makes me very happy to see all the love and praise he is getting for his role in No Way Home. It's long overdue.
He is such a sweetheart. The respect and affection he shows the other two, ugh this is so wholesome. Sony/Marvel are fools if they don’t bring him back again.
@@espresso387 Spider-Man was written out of the mcu I think or is limited so he won’t be involved like he previously was cuz of Sony or at least to a certain restriction, so I doubt it would happen although Andrew might still put the suit back on in the future, it’s great and all but it just sucks how we can’t have every spider character in one universe due to petty company greed. Who knows tho, anything could happen it’s just whether they try to make it happen.
@@jayquanis what do you mean he is out of the mcu? Did you watch NWH? The amount of money Sony is making from spiderman is way to much for them to pull the plug
@@espresso387 I edited it I meant as in Tom holland has 4 signed films with them and that’s it but due to nwh success they might try to form a different contract since Disney and Sony are both successful
@@dawnsoberanis5451 it's almost confirmed coz in nwh Norman says I couldn't find Oscorp meaning no Oscorp in Mcu so it's either Andrew or Tobeys universe but ig it's Tobeys coz of wall graffiti in morbius trailer
Considering how heroically tight lipped he's been I can imagine there's a DIsney exec watching him and thinking about all the times Tom Holland accidentally spilled the beans over the years and just goes "So... Why didn't we keep this guy again?"
Because Andrew was a relic of a non-Disney Spider-Man and they wanted to start with a fresh take on Spidey? Also, the amount of people that seems to believe Tom Holland "accidentally" spoils stuff over and over again is astonishing.
@@deproissant He accidently spoils some stuff. Other stuff is clearly intentional. Occasionally it can be hard to tell whether or not something is scripted, but most of the time it's pretty clear
I can't imagine the never ending pressure he's been under for the last year, getting asked whether or not he was involved in this. I would love to see him return as Spider-Man. One thing I like about Spider-Man: No Way Home, is that it made a lot of people rethink their opinions about TASM-movies. That it wasn't Andrews performance that ruined the movie, but the plot. I remember between 2014-2017, that people had a hard time separating Andrews performance as Spider-Man from the plot itself. Like if the story sucked, then Andrew sucked too. But that wasn't the case at all. Alex Kurtzman just messed up the plot so badly, and I'm so happy for Andrew that he got to develop it again.
Yeah, if they have a better scripts, including the performance that Andrew Garfield did in TASM 1 and 2, it won't get much bad critics as it was back then...
I do think tasm's spiderman was weaker than the other versions but that was mostly due to the script andrew was given. He was without a doubt my favorite one in no way home and i was oddly surprised to see how fun he was as a character and it kinda confirmed for a lot of people that tasm's problem was everything but andrew's acting
Being a huge fan of Andrew and TASM when it came out, it’s so validating seeing all the love he’s getting now. Still remember all the hate around it back then bc people weren’t ready for a reboot.. Everything’s come full circle and it’s heartwarming!!
I never watched his movies, but decided to get all the old movies to watch last night.. I agreed with the plot being kinda dumb from reviews BUT when you're watching the dumb plot in the movie, you don't notice the flaws and I was shocked how much I genuinely liked TASM. I'm going to prob watch the 2nd one tonight, and curious if I'll feel the same way about that one too, but damn it the TASM fans weren't wrong. How I really know I liked it, is it was very hard for me to admit that NWH edged Andrew (and tom) to a close tie with all 3 spider men (I'm an OG Tobey fan), but after TASM... Sorry Tobey you may have been kicked to 2nd 😬
People weren't hating because they weren't ready for a reboot. I'd love a new Spider-Man movie every year if it could happen. But the script was just terrible. Forgettable even. I hardly remember anything from those two movies besides Gwen Stacy, Electro and Rhino... And that's mainly because No Way Home reminded me 🤣
The Andrew movies were just mediocre to bad. The first was okay, the second TASM was terrible, even worse than SM3. Here are some examples: - First movie set up a plot with Peter’s parents as the main mystery. That plot literally went nowhere and never answered. - Andrew’s Peter Parker acted like a dick. Pretty off-character for Peter himself. His version of Peter was more like a cool hipster than a nerdy kid who got bullied. - Electro became a villain because “Spider Man forgot my birthday.” Amazing writing. - Whenever there’s a fight, people of New York just stands around and watch??? Like no one is trying to evacuate from the villain who can kill them in an instant?? This happened multiple times in both movies and served as a lazy way to have Spider Man saving civilians during the fight. It wasn’t really Andrew’s fault though. The movies just sucked because of shitty writing and constant plot holes. Andrew has the most comic accurate Spider Man. His Peter, however, was the worst portrayal out of the 3.
Good to see my man Andrew being excited and happy to put on the suit and play Spidey again, same goes for Tobey, they both became the victims of studio decisions, Andrew mostly. Them getting chances to finally giving a closure to their characters is just amazing.
It warms my heart to see him so happy about it. He deserves all the press and all the love. His interpretation deserved so much more. Andrew, if you’re reading this, thank you for your amazing efforts.
This energy is really reflected in that GMA interview where Andrew said "y'all are good at your jobs, but I'm better at mine!" because you could tell he really wanted to talk about it there. Now he can!
I just imagine them watching the reactions of the people in the crowd screaming when Andrew and Tobeys Spider-Man shows up and was it has been a magical experience for them
@@user-rm2ho1vi7p yes, that's so sad, i miss Gwen and Peter so much:( maybe they can resurrect her somehow lol i want her back, they can blame it on the multiverse 😭
Andrew talking about his spider-bros makes me feel so comfy, he's like a duvet and a hot chocolate during winter. He really get those middle child vibes.
I really want Andrew Garfield to return as Spider-Man in TASM 3. He deserves to have his own trilogy and battle an alien (finally). I also want him to get to interact with other Marvel superheroes like Tom Holland had done.
@@alienator4684 Broken logic, I could say the same for the lakers with no indication of change. "Well there's a chance they get way better" because LeBron is there. We already know the movies weren't very good even with Andrew's great performances, but we have less good than bad to truly wipe the slate clean.
@@Arizzic The first one was great Imo, I can admit the second one’s story wasn’t all that good but I still found the movie enjoyable. Plus I responded the way I did before because saying the potential 3rd installment to the franchise could be bad as a reason to not make it is a bit pessimistic.
@@alienator4684 Ah, I see, sorry if I came off as rude, with how marvel is doing recently you aren't wrong to have hope. I'd also be interested in a spider man 3 Andrew is a great actor that deserves much more so I understand not taking the pessimistic route, and again sorry if I did come off as rude.
His love for the character and movies is so evident. I really hope he gets to come back and maybe even get another movie. Maybe that's unrealistic idk, but I'd love to see another one.
Ok but opening night was everything, I was there and the entire theater shook! I just imagine them sitting there and seeing them selfs come on screen being the only ones knowing what was about to happen and the theater just absolutely roaring
I love all three actor's and I love all three of them as Spider-Man but I have a special fondness for this adorable lovable guy and I must say he is my favorite Spider-Man and I could watch his Spider-Man movies again and again without getting bored ' Something about amazing Spider-Man and that is he is definitely adorable and lovable and addictive 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 😊 !!
I know what he actually meant, but it would still be funny if Andrew and Tobey snuck in wearing actual Spider-man masks and people assumed they were a couple of cosplayers...
Man Andrew is finally getting all the love he deserves for his Spiderman.Would love to see his Spiderman solo movie with better writers and a good director
Dude finally got the recognition he deserved. Ever since The Amazing series came out, i've always advocated that it was the BEST version of Spiderman. Andrew's performance was incredible, the suit was amazing, the cast were perfect, and the cinematography was mindblowingly-good. BUT NOBODY AGREED WITH ME! Only after No Way Home, did the public finally realize how amazing Andrew's Amazing Spiderman is.
Loved him from the beginning and him saying Tobey his favourite and praising Tom just raised my respect for him even more. And I just wish, Zuckerberg shouldn't have downplayed him for his network 😂😂
