I hate this "do what real fans want". Real fans will understand changes. I personally don't like his edm style tracks, but everyone should try multiple things and not restrict themselves to one thing cause that's what "real" fans want.

I don't mind people actually changing styles but almost every release I saw from him was a collab and interestingly enough, I mainly heard the style of the person he collabed with, making me wonder what was actually done by him in the track. Then again, who cares if I like what happened or not. It's his life and if that's what he wants to do, then good for him.

FYI it's Big Room (Trance). It's not mainstream but it can be. Like country, rock, metal can be mainstream but they have small garage bands that some people might not know about. Doesn't mean because someone made a quality big room track but only have 3/5 followers on soundcloud doesn't mean it's not big room, it's still Big Room same goes when you make trance which is why saying Trance is dead is totally illogical with that amount of listeners Yeah, Tiësto is really confusing and if he is a sellout, he'll be Alan Walker/Chainsmokers/Garrix/Zedd by now. He made A Town of Paradise clearly because he is inspired by Avicii-True, SHM-Until Now, Zedd-Clarity. Progressive house was booming and powerful at that time so yeah why not try it? He's happy playing all kinds of EDM (Dubstep, Trance,Trap, Future Bounce, Hardstyle, House, etc.) in sets and the track he plays mostly not available on all country or Channel V/MTV unlike AW/TCS/GRX/Zedd. Yes it can be mainstream especially when the radio is specified only for EDM like BPM, -Electric Area- Diplo's Revolution (My condolences), Fly-Five-O, etc. but actually not many people still doesn't know EDM especially the non-radio friendly ones. Just look at IEM/The International performances. Music taste changes just like how I moved time to time from Rock to Nu Metal to Pop Punk to EDM (Dubstep, DnB, Eurobeat, Hardstyle, House, Trance, etc.) and it's natural. Yes, it's devastating to see how your favourite DJ's sound had changed but the best thing to do for me is listen to his/her old tracks, be grateful about it and move on or find someone that is similar to them, the ones that inspired by his/her past

of course you move on. People move on either way, but why not try and reach out to those artists you love, in the hopes of inspiring them to recreate the style that you initially fell in love with in the beginning. Also i wouldnt call avicii -true, zedd-clarity or the above mentioned progressive house. More like mainstream pop, taking minor nuances from house. But no need to comment on opinion. You stated yours and I stated mine. Let it be.
