Nice kicks. I've taken a hiatus from sneakers for the past 3-4 months (was using my extra funds to build a ridiculous home audio system)...but I'm ready to start pilin' up the shoes again. I might start with these....
You couldn't have matched your shirt with these shoes better if you tried. Spot on. Of course this shoe is pretty stellar and I love the laces too. Pretty sick indeed. I was surprised to see Andrew go to NB but I'm glad he did. Great review as always! All the best! Gabby from DC❤️
YOU KNOW NEW BALANCE CAN DO A WHOLE LOTTA DAMAGE WITH THAT SHOE!!!! THEY COULD TAKE THAT LINE AND GO THE NIKE SB ROUTE WITH LOTS AND LOTS OF COLORWAYS AND MATERIALS....I SEE GOOD THANGS COMING INTO THAT PARTICULAR SHOE.
@@DavidBluetile they are awesome looking but I haven’t skated them. New Balance restocked on there website so I was able to get a pair but now I’m scared to wreck them right away if it turns out they are super limited.
Just bought me a pair of the 480 in the orange color way, im gonna say I prefer sKting these then sbs. More board feel in my opinion and tbh they look clean and feel so comfortable, also I had the Emerifa reynolds and they have the same feel but more room for me I’m an 8-8.5
NB are good and grippy but the down side to the shoe is where the calcaneus part of the foot and shoe meet and how quickly it wears down (NB needs to add better protection there)
should I go .5 size up in these? I might have a little bit wider feet than normal, or just normal, but I definitely don't have narrow feet. I wear size 11 air force 1's if that's a useful comparison. I want to get the size with the least risk of having an uncomfy fit. logically going .5 size up would be better since at least it wont be tight, but im afraid that 11.5 will be too large. sorry this question / comment was all over the place im just tired and need some advice lol.
@@sole__doubt the only pair i bought was the nm 22 and those dont even look like nb because their is no N logo its more minimal but I couldnt even skate those because its way too much boardfeel for my liking , ive been eyeing the tiagos in the brown but gonna just get accel ogs instead
i really thought he would have a pro shoe kinda disspointed for real. reynolds is a LEGEND he shouldve got a shoe immediately and im sure everyone would agree
He's coming out with a pro shoe in a year or so on Numeric. He just got on the team, I'm sure his shoes will be fire and they don't wanna rush the process.
David, could you give me an idea on if this shoe is comparable to the 1010? As in fits a little long if you get normal size? I wear 10 in the 1010 but I wear 10.5 in the 440s. But the 1010 does come a little longer than most size 10 shoes, 10.5 is too big. Thanks.
Man feet are so different. I’m an 11.5 in 440 and a 12 in the 1010 (except the roan ones). I could go either way on the 480 but the 11.5 feels a tad snug to skate in and my toes get a little sore after a while
You say that you need to go up a half a size ALOT in your vids..did you ever think maybe your a size 12?..along with your ears and nose, your feet never stop growing..they slow way down but dont stop growing
its a bit of a either or situation. I explain in the video. in the last 480 video I posted I was a sure TTS but after skating them I could go up a half size or not... new balance tend to do that for me. where they feel so comfy at first but then my toes start to feel cramped after skating in them... I might have explained it better in the video
Be honest with me because I’m about to quit nb. I’m an 11.5 All of the tiagos I got 11.5 and my heel slips out when I walk. What size should I get of the Reynolds?
My tiagos hurt my toes! Had to ditch em after only a week. Need wider toe box and yeah my heel slipped out of them too. Poor design but they look sweet
I think it's lame that riders get seduced by these huge brands......wish Airwalk, Vision Street Wear etc would come back......I've been wearing Es for the last 20 years and would never give my money to Nike, NB or any other brand trying to scab on the sk8brdg industry. That's just me though....I'm old lol.
I think if core brands didn’t start selling to mall chains like pac sun and journeys to try to reach a larger non skate audience by adding in “food court pro-models” the doors would have been held tighter closed for big brands. I remember when journeys entire store front display was circa… our circa sales died over night. Fast forward to now and the eS consumer is trained to wait for sales and almost never pay full price for shoes…. Shops can’t sustain a brand as just being a wholesale middle man so the brands that sell at full price rise to the top.
@@DavidBluetile Well you make great points. I also am looking at this through lenses of emotion rather than business sense. I never liked Circa anyway; sure they had good riders but the shoes were ugly....which is also highly subjective. Thanx for the reply \m/
@@smallfaucet jaime had some pretty sick circa shoes for a while. several. a lot of them carried over to fallen. That same thing did happen with soletech brands though. Circa was just an exact moment I recalled. the biggest hurdle for core brands is the consumer just about refusing to pay full price. I once heard this saying that sticks with me. "your brand is the amount of money someone is willing to pay over the value of the product." basically its suggesting that you dont have a brand if people wont pay more than the materials are worth. I feel like the consumer has abandoned actually supporting skater owned brands and really just support their wallet while preaching "skater owned". I dont blame em. money is tight! but people will pay full price for nike product so theyre going to win in the market place.
