He does use the same vsts twice. In his puremix tutorial, he uses the same parallel effect presets. He uses parallel compression btw.

I definitely mention in this video about his use of parallel compression. The reason I know he reuses VSTs is because he has an evolving mix template. Not sure what I said in this video but he definitely mixes up his use of specific effect types. Again, like your other comment, anything I said in this video was based on something I heard him say or saw him do. Thanks.

He created the rear bus*

He didn't create the rear bus, it was something already available on his Neve or whatever he was using. He may have pioneered its use as a parallel compression chain, however.

@@Hexspa the rear bus method is the method in which you use parallel compression on a send/bus/aux channel/insert , he even stated that he created it. Yes there are some consoles that have two "master" busses, but no one else used at the time thought of doing what he did with it, hence he created that method.

@@Hexspa if you say rear buss, you are referring to that method. Otherwise you can say a console with two master busses.

He doesnt do automation. Hes a fan of static.

Can you post a link? If I included it in this video, I probably had a reference. I remember him saying that he definitely tries to make the static balance as good as possible - going so far as to reset the faders several times - but definitely uses automation. Maybe he does different things on different mixes.
