2. SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Tate, internet influencer:
"In the UK, they're locking people up for a simple tweet. We're getting to a point where you're not allowed to say anything or have a differing opinion from the official narrative. We all know how that worked during Covid. They intend on locking us all back in our houses and taking all of our money away. Anybody with a brain understands that."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Tate, internet influencer:
(Reporter: Are you planning to leave Romania after all of this? )
Tate: "Nah, I love Romania, it's beautiful. I like the castles and the vampires. It's the gorgeous place. Why should I leave Romania? There's 3200 video chat studios in here, in this country. How many have been raided for human trafficking? Isn't it funny that they didn't care about me doing video chat or anyone doing video chat?"
4. SOUNDBITE (Romanian) Ioan Gliga, lawyer for Tate:
“We're trying to convince the court of law that the proposal of preventive arrest formulated in the second file is hazardous and we hope to succeed. Regarding the preventive measures, the fundamental issue is that our clients are not the actual owners of the goods seized and there are serious legal problems regarding these measures, and we hope to convince the court of these things.”

STORYLINE:
Divisive social media personality Andrew Tate on Wednesday claimed that "the highest echelons of power and finance" were "coming to enslave us all" as he attended the Bucharest Tribunal with his brother Tristan Tate.
On Saturday, Romanian authorities towed away a fleet of luxury vehicles from the home of the divisive social media personality Andrew Tate, days after he was placed under house arrest following new human trafficking allegations.
Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan Tate, 36, both former kickboxers and dual British-U.S. citizens with millions of followers on social media and known for their misogynistic views, are already awaiting trial in Romania, along with two women. They were charged with human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women. Andrew Tate was also charged with rape in that case.
Ioan Gliga, a lawyer for Tate, said they were trying to convince the court that preventive arrest proposal had "serious legal problems" and was therefore "hazardous."
Tate claimed his arrest was part of a plot to "enslave us all," referencing the recent arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France and the court cases against former US President Donald Trump.
"Me in jail, Pavel in jail. They're trying to put Trump in jail. The reason they're trying to lock up anybody who has a free mind is because they're coming to enslave us all," said Tate.
"Trust me, at the highest echelons of power and finance, they're in private rooms, having conversations with people who are interested only in your enslavement. And they're not just going to enslave me. They're going to enslave all of you. So you need to prepare yourselves, because it's going to get a lot worse," he added.
Tate said he was more concerned about "the ability to express ourselves," rather than his cars which towed away.
"In the UK, they're locking people up for a simple tweet. We're getting to a point where you're not allowed to say anything or have a differing opinion from the official narrative. We all know how that worked during Covid."
