He drew pictures of my family in Chadds Ford,Pa. My mother has ad an original painting signed by him called the Painted Post. The gentleman in the painting is my grandfather Othaniel Winfield. They were friends.
That is incredible and thank you for sharing. I am looking at a photo of the painting now and it is magnificent. I have seen many paintings of Wyeth's and thought I had seen them all, first time I have seen this one. What an honor for your Grandfather to be immortalized by one of the greatest American artists to ever live.
@@henrywilliamriffeii7425 i tell the story all the time. He also drew a painting called" turtleneck" that's of my uncle mutt. He drew a picture of my cousin Anthony Winfield and one of the house wich was my grandparents house with my cousin Anthonys pitbull in it. That's the only painting i ever seen drawn by him that's done in black and white but also has some color in it. He was close friends with my grandfather and uncle mutt. He gave that original painting to my mother at my grandfather's funeral. My mom always refers to him as plain old Mr Andy. Lol
