I swear Andrey is the only person who struggles going down on a squat the looks like hes squatting 225 going up. On top of that no monolift and his feet arent 12 miles apart, great squat.
It's not a real squat. The walk out is part of the lift. People just like to lie to themselves and make the lift easier but removing the walk out. One of the many reasons powerlifting will never be an Olympic sport. The rules are a joke. And most of the federations that allow a mono-lift, always have lifters that never actually go to proper depth on a squat.
Stan “Rhino” Efferding squats like that too.. like you’re watching a spring on a car get slowly compressed all the way down and then just explode to full extension in no time at all.
+tyronebiggums3 That wasn't the guy who misloaded the plates. The opposite side was missing a 7.5 kg plate. You can actually see the guy who misloaded it in the 871 miss, towards the left wearing the black Boss barbell shirt, just to the left of the guy with the afro. He looks upset when Andrey misses it.
+stewie griffin Those mistakes should never happen with that many eyes on the weight. Loaders, spotters, judges...you as the lifter might as well double check before you attempt as well. That should never happen. Very unfortunate.
A missload on such a high level just shouldn´t happen. Such a stupid mistake could cause serious injury. I would have been angry as fuck. Month over month of hard preparation and then just a shit deadlift result, because of 1 or 2 people who can´t calculate. Damn
His deadlift also suffered a bit because he came into this meet at an all time high bodyweight. You sacrifice deadlift leverages the bigger you get in most cases, but not all.
Sucks he tore his hamstring as well... I was surprised while watching the stream when they misloaded it. I mean of ALL THE PEOPLE at the meet to misload
ImmortallySpawned I remember reading a post saying something along the lines of "Andrey will not be attending barbell brigade for his seminar since he has torn his hamstring and is flying out to NYC to see his doctor ASAP. Your money will be fully refunded"
My ankles snapped after watching this. He made it look too easy, like as if it was his opening lift. Sick. BTW, I don´t understand how do you fail to load the correct amount of weight. You only had ONE JOB.
even though the judge on his phone wasn't judging he could of put his damn phone away, and maybe... just maybe they wouldn't have misloaded the damn bar!
Great lifting! But if you ever want a proper announcer to your comps to the benefit of the lifters and the crowd, feel free to contact me. -Kalle Eemeli Ylitalo-James
I think he should get credit for an extra 100lbs on the squat just for blocking out that irritating commentator and the image of that black guy spotting with the pick in his hair.
is that jeremy hamilton with that huge back? dang well; thats what happens when you squat 700lbs+ (in sleeves) and 800lbs (in wraps) and 765lbs deadlift. for a second there i thought it was sam byrd
What a shame about the misload and then the hamstring injury. 2,500 and maybe more was there with better luck(messed up first attempt, misload, then hamstring injury)
What a trashy powerlifting meet. Ghetto/unprofessional announcing, misloading weights, mispronouncing names over and over again and an obnoxious woman at the beginning of the video screaming nonsense and completely butchering Malanichev's name.
+Mabeh Al-Zuq Yadeek That's what happens when you get an announcer who's there because of his voice rather than his knowledge of the sport and its athletes. He got his name right once then twenty seconds later fucked it up.
Seems like he does his best lifting in bad situations. Does alright for himself back in Russia squatting in the 900s or 1000s in single ply but then sits on a plane all day to come to America, gets all dehydrated or is throwing up between warm ups and then he goes out and crushes 1000 raw squats. I hate to suggest this because he seems so nice but maybe if y'all could be dicks to him next time he comes over for a meet he'd squat 1100.
No it isn't. You can wear a belt, knee sleeves and wrist wraps in all raw powerlifting federations. In some there is a raw category called raw with wraps (knee wraps) and that's what this is. Equipped Lifting is with single or multiply suits and knee wraps.
