@@buzzinsmaug6794 dude, how old are you? Italian football was a mix of tactical and physical excellence that time, while EPL was a 4-4-2 "cross and finish" casino. Even iconic MU played 2 strikers. This particular Milan was a band of magicians dominating the Europe that time. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
Imagine giving Henry 93 card, Van Nistelrooy and Eto'o 92 and Shevchenko the ballon d'or winner 91 playing in the best league at that time facing players like Zanetti, Veron, Materazzi, Samuel, Simeone, Nesta & Stam (Lazio), Thuram, Cannavaro, Davids, Montero, Zambrotta, Aldair & Cafu (Roma) etc. As a complete striker: two footed, powerful shot, accuracy, long range, short range, headers, pace, strength and dribbling. Both him and Kaka should have a higer rate.
Both Henryband Van Nistelrooy were better than Shevchenko. And you can name all those fossil defenders… fact is, different leagues have different styles… and he was a part of the MOST BORING UCL final ever… came to England and couldn’t keep up with the pace.
I think he couldn't keep up with Drogba who was in his prime. I know there were issues with JM too. But saying Fossil defenders etc you're probably an expert, fast and right. @@DJObiSmalls
@@DJObiSmalls You are clueless about football, buddy. He was injured and dealing with fitness issues in England. Serie A was a much better and tougher league.
Andriy is the reason I became Milanista as a child. He represents everything to me, my soul, my heart, my faith. You can feel San Siro at 6:58 and you realize who was Shevchenko. I carry you in my heart, in all my days. Thank You Sheva7! ❤
Shevchenko is the reason of me becoming a huge AC Milan fan as a child 15-20 years ago. He is my football hero and always will be… Thank you Sheva. Thank you #7 💛
The best Ukrainian footballer. An example of an ideal striker, excellent speed, shots from both feet, heading, excellent football intelligence and scoring flair. Legend - Sheva!
A clearly outstanding player from his youth at Dynamo Kyiv and later in his professional career.Watching him play was poetry in motion. Shevchenko was and will be a HUGE legend of Ukrainian football.

Shevchenko still remains in my top 3 of all time favourite strikers. He was absolutely phenomenal at AC Milan! I can remember watching Champions League football and being in awe of his ablity to terrorise defenders. Fantastic striker! ❤🖤
yep! Cristi Chivu (one of Romania's best defenders of those years) had said in an interview (for a local TV post here in Romania) that in his entire career, Sheva had been the hardest striker to mark and keep under control because he was so quick, so stealthy and he'd read the game so well that one second you had him tightly in your arms and in the next split-second he'd be 10 meters away from you scoring goals. Really funny (yet accurate) comparison :)
@@dorinc5263 What is your language? You translate from russian, but this is a Ukrainian city and there is one state language in Ukraine - Ukrainian, Kyiv in Ukrainian.
@@user-nr5yy1se7n shevchenko at Milan unstopable.. duet with BierHoff. This man has a Incredible Pace and Stamina.. . I am still remember How he makes Solo run at Dynamo Kiev..
That 1997-1999 Dynamo Kiev team was legendary, made it to the semi final of Champions League too....Rebrov and Shevchenko were deadly due.....then Shevchenko and Serginho at AC were deadly due too and were signed at the same time.
one of the most clutch players ever. he scored so many goals, that were decisive for his team. I don't care, how many hattricks cr7, messi and lewandowski will score against club brugge, Shevchenko is right up with them as a striker in the champions league era.
I swear this is absolutely perfect First goal vs Bayern First hat trick vs Barça Scored twice while at Dynamo vs Bayern and Real Madrid Conquers Europe with Milan Last goal and only in his comeback to Dynamo is vs Inter. He is the top scorer in the history of the Milan Derby, that final goal is just perfect, if it was to be written in a script it wouldn’t have worked out better. Grande Sheva.
I had a t-shirt with him and Rebrov together. Later with his AC Milan t-shirt. I guess 90% of all my peers playing football had the same t-shirts:). We had his posters with golden ball on the walls:) The level of love for that Dynamo Kyiv where there were also Kakha Kaladze (AC Milan later), Luzhny (Arsenal later), Rebrov (Tottenham later) etc was absolutely insane. Still remember all the matches in the UCL:)
At his first UCL hat trick against barca I remember moment when he actually run from right to left winger position against 4 or 5 defenders and no one can't take ball from him,it was crazy to see to someone doing that on camp nou that time,it's over 4:0 in Spain and another 3:0 in Kiev which I was witness, sweet remember😢
At the moment (2022) he still the striker with more goals in the derby della madonnina. The fact that his last goal in ucl was against inter is just pure poetry.. even if he was not playing for milan
Lenda!!!
Magical player was Sheva. He was a raw talent in Kyiv but became one of the most refined strikers ever at Milan. He's as good as any of the up-and-coming strikers of today as the Messi-Ronaldo era is ending. One of his best abilities was his headed goals. It's becoming a lost art.
Sheva Maldini Seedorf and their generation of players in Milan made me AC MILAN fan for life...so many memories and such a delicate greatness never seen again in a football club..THANK YOU SHEVA FOR BEING ONE OF MY CHILDHOOD HEROES!🇬🇷🇮🇹🇺🇦🔴⚫🔴⚫~7~
his 14 goals playing for dinamo kiev, 8 of them scored against top clubs at that time ( 3 barca, 2 real madrid, 2 bayern munich and 1 arsenal ). world class player.
I know everyone talks about Barca being great in not-so-distant past, but this Milan team is probably the second best of all time in my opinion! Glory To Ukraine!
There’s no such thing as “the best of all time.” However, I prefer Sacchi’s or Cappello’s Milan over Ancelotti’s Milan. Don Carlo won just 1 Scudetto in 8 seasons. That simply cannot be “the second best team of all time”.
@@lobistJORA Who needs that Scudetto? Every Serie A fan, and for many years Serie A trophy was the most prestigious trophy. It was like football NBA. After all, Sacchi's Milan won 2 consecutive UCLs and Cappello's Milan won 4 Scudettos (3 consecutive and one of them without a single lost game!), and reached 3 consecutive UCL finals as well. If Ancelotti's Milan is the 2nd best team of all time, these two earlier generation should share the 1st place.
@@adamsmith4813 Really? Don't say nonsense, it's a translation from russian in English. In Ukraine, one state language and the name of the city must be translated from Ukrainian. And this is Kyiv.
@@eugene5610 of course it belongs to the Russian empire if you are talking history. To me, i don't care what country anyone is from or what nationality, or language. People are people. D. Kiev was also a great team in the Soviet era btw.
While he was still playing at Dynamo Kyiv he scored against Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid... What a talent, AC Milan were so smart when they signed him. Fast, he could score with both feet, he was also great at heading, so many goals at important matches during the knockout phase of the Champions League.. Complete forward.
I like how he was not always technically immaculate, but had this lead predator instinct combined with speed and strength - simple qualities that made him a truly loved legend of European football.
When i was a kid my father bought me an AC Milan shirt with "Shevchenko" written on the back (which i don't know who he is) and the Opel logo on the front. Since then I loved watching football.
When I was playing Iss pro evolution around 99/2000, Sheva and Ronaldo (R9) were my strikers. Both fast, unstoppable, great finition...best strikers in the game.
Thanks for this wonderful collection! One of my all-time favorite sports stars, so humble and unassuming - always smiling! And a big bag of skills too 🙂 💖 🇨🇦
Talking about his era; maybe he wasnt skilled as R9 when it comes to dribbling or not athletic as Thierry Henry was. But he was the best finisher among all strikers in his prime. That's for sure.
You guys will probably not understand what Sheva means for the Ukrainian kids of my generation. Absolute hero and legend. Best Ukrainian player I’ve ever seen.
Anyone remember how broken good he was in the old school ISS games on PS1? Dude has max speed and shot power and was pretty much guaranteed to score anywhere near the box.
It’s a shame he was finished in 2006. In 2005-2006 campaign that was the last season of great Shevchenko. During his prime (1997-1999 in Kiev and the whole time in AC Milan 1999-2006 he was in top 5 at his position)
One of my favorit striker back then... And this is player who make me like chelsea... Cause i like sheva and when he move from milan to chelsea, that make me fan of chelsea.
When he was at the school he was running before classes every fucking day on the stadium at 7 a.m. He was telling his teacher he doesn't need good grades, he would be a pro player. . They were laughing, Ibet they don't laugh now. Legend
