Straight up plug and play Chinese Android 9” touch screen upgrade for a 2014 Kia Rio. Plenty of additional features and options for upgrading including DVR function of front and rear dash cams, rear view camera, cellular data for streaming and downloading apps etc.
Very easy direct replacement that looks as good as OEM and maintains all factory controls and features.

Hey so I got it fitted and everything works except when I try to program the steering wheel controls it doesn’t respond do you know why?
@sworei5716

And also is there vertical white lines on yours
@GrantFixes
@GrantFixes 12 дней назад
@@sworei5716 as long as everything is plugged in properly it should work. Just confirm the plugs are pushed in tight and no loose cables. If that doesn’t work and everything is good, try holding the reset button for at least 3 seconds to reset and reboot the system. If this fails you may have a faulty system. There shouldn’t be any lines on the screen either. Document everything and make a claim if it doesn’t work properly. I haven’t had a problem until for several years now, but even the big manufacturers have DOA issues

Thanks for the video. Any idea why my steering wheel control is not being detected? I have same harness. Thanks in advance

@@arielrwc have you programmed the controls? If you are in the programming for the steering wheel controls and it doesn’t see the input, check all of your connections are good and tight, no loose pins and try again.

Nice video. Wich radio with touchscreen did you use? Do you have a link for that? Can you recommend it? Im trying to find a good and affordable new radio with CarPlay function.

See link below. She is very happy with the head unit and it looks great. Spend the extra money on the larger memory and faster processor, it runs far smoother. The wireless CarPlay does take a little bit to connect, probably close to 10 seconds or so. Otherwise, use an external microphone, the one in the head unit is crappy. I bought it and I’m struggling to connect CarPlay and I haven’t got an app for sw controls plz could I have some help
@GrantFixes

@@cabbagebap350 please confirm the “ZLink” app is installed. Make sure your Wifi is on and not connected to any other networks. Connect to Bluetooth through the “phone” app. If it doesn’t auto connect and open the “ZLink” app, once connected open the ZLink app and make sure you give your phone permission to use CarPlay. I’d think it best to contact the seller about the Steering Controls app. It may be hidden or not installed. Let me know how you go.

@@cabbagebap350 the ZLink app works for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Without being in front of it makes it a little hard to diagnose. Please check your phone settings. Sometimes you have to connect to the head unit with Bluetooth and go into the settings in your phone to enable CarPlay.

Great video, can you still use the OEM car mic and USB port with this kind of unit?
@GrantFixes
@GrantFixes Месяц назад
Yes you can. I did explain in the video which cables you need to connect to use the microphone. I am going to be connecting it on this car as Sarah has said the call quality is very poor with the microphone in the unit. The OEM USB in this car was not working before and didn’t work afterwards, must be faulty. It isn’t required for CarPlay anyway.
@epixit
@epixit Месяц назад
Thanks for the answer, I just bought the exact same unit for my rio. Did you found a way to change the default theme on the radio?
@GrantFixes
@GrantFixes Месяц назад
@@epixit I think you’ll be pretty happy. I have basically the same in my Porsche Cayenne and a few other cars I’ve since sold. You can change the name of the unit for Bluetooth search in the Bluetooth app settings. You can also change the passcode there. I’m not very Android savvy but I’m sure you can change the units name in the android settings, just like on a phone. Good luck with it all and keep me posted. I love seeing other people DIYing.

@@GrantFixes Great video! Do you want to make a video when you are going to connect the car microphone? I am looking for the right plug and how to connect the red and black wire to it. Which processor and how many memory do you have? Thanks!
@GrantFixes
@GrantFixes Месяц назад
@@Thomas-bk5nj thanks for the feed back. I actually just installed a complete microphone on the car last weekend. The plug is very easy to fit to the factory wiring and I would’ve done that but I had a spare microphone and not a plug. The unit installed was an 8 core 2.0gHz processor with 6gB RAM and 128gB ROM. It works great without glitches and is pretty responsive. This is a link for the correct jack/plug au.rs-online.com/web/p/jack-plugs-sockets/0392633 It’s available through most electronics stores and online most places. You solder the black to the outside tongue and the red to the centre. I can do a video of it if it helps, let me know.
