Thank you so much for this. Been thinking of getting apple products for tablet and computer but I love my s21 ultra from samsung. I think this will be just fine. Eventually, maybe I will switch to iphone but I love the customization of android atm.
@@aryntesfaye3100 Agree with Ike on this from my experience. So it's been pretty seamless and great. (Except for things Ike mentioned in his last comment). Been rocking the Mac and android life for a couple months now and I love it.
apples customization is night and day from how it was 2 years ago, now in some aspects iphones are even more customizable than android for example the lockscreen stuff
I'm an Android user throughout but the family are Apple, I am seriously thinking of gettiing a Macbook after this due to ease of sharing between devices. Great video and easy to understand, definitely looking at the great M2 Air deals.
Him owning an ipad and preferring an Android phone doesn't make him spoiled 😂 just means he prefers iPad as his tablet of choice but doesn't want to use an iPhone. Guess both my mom, dad, and a ton of other consumers are spoiled since they own android phones but love their iPads
Same here lol watching on my ipad pro 11 inch and I got an s24 ultra which honestly disappointed me, my previous s22 ultra was smoother and less buggy, this new guy is full of bugs and has scroll lag for certain apps, when I use these apps on my 4y old ipad pro, they’re all perfectly smooth, why samsung lmao I’m gonna sell it and get an iphone 16 when it’s out honestly
Yea it's a tough one to get out of. Not sure what apps you use on Mac, but nearby share is out in beta on windows, works really seamless. Might can help with your switch if you ever decided to
lol I mean this won't replace it in all honesty just a way to get your messaging on your android devices to your Mac. Glad you found it helpful, and sorry for the late response
So the video covers that. If what you're looking for isn't here, you'd have to do some research, but remember, Apple doesn't want their devices to play nicely with other platforms, so certain things just aren't going to work. It sucks but ayy that's what happens with a closed platform.
I've been on Mac OS for a whole 2 days..and could not figure this out! Thanks man! Thumbs up and subscription done! I do have one question...I can't get Duo or photos to show up...what am I missing?
I personally use google calander for everything, and when you add your google account under the accounts tab on your iPhone, it gives you the option to also sync the calander. I can create an event on my Pixel and it will show up on my mac or iPhone. I don't think there is a way to use them separately and get them to sync. Hope this helps
@@IkesTechTalk thanks for the response. I'm frustrated having switched to Android from iOS but still using icloud for my other gadgets. Apple is so territorial 🤨
Hmmmm still don't quite understand what's happening, have you installed the app from the browser? If so it should only be opening a window for that app, not your entire browser. If it does, what you can try to do is go to the site of the app, take twitter for example, then click the chrome menu button in the very top right and look for "open in" and it should have the name of whatever PWA you saved. Hope that helps!!!!
Normally I leave it up as a window so you get the audible notification sound. In terms of pop up notifications, I've never needed them so I'm honestly not sure
Not sure what you mean by going backwards. Some people don't want an iPhone. This video just shows how they can get back some of the functionality you get when using an iPhone, but with their preferred choice of mobile phone.
Hey! I'm planning on buying the pixel 7a and MacBook later in the year along with galaxy watch 4. Will there be any problems with this combination? Thanks!
Not sure what you mean by in the galaxy watch. If you mean will it pair with your phone, yes, you just won't get 100% of the features you would if you used a Samsung smartphone. The watch doesn't impact the laptop at all
@@IkesTechTalk thankyou, actually I wanted to know what you meant when you said phone calls is a missing feature, like in what device is that an issue? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, I just don't know much about this stuff. Anyway I appreciate your help, subscribed!
Lol not at all a dumb question, so when using an iphone and a Mac, if you have a phone call come in. Your mac will also ring for you to answer. I haven't been able to mimic this functionality when using an Android phone with a mac
If you launch it in chrome and click the three menu dots there's an option that says install. I also have a video about using an android device in the apple ecosystem and it list the exact steps. Check it out
I've honestly never tried it that way. I find that while Android with a Mac is easy because a lot of Google's services are web based and easy to access. Apple tends to be a bit more restrictive with how their products work with other platforms
@@IkesTechTalk I don't necessarily want to be in the Apple ecosystem. But if I decided to switch to an iPhone and replace my Dell with a MacBook and get an alternative watch (fossil/Fitbit/Garmin) and alternative earbuds (Jabra). Do you think that combination would work well?
If you mean thru messages in the web, I'm pretty sure the browser asks you the first time you scan the QR if it can send you notifications, if you select yes, they will come thru as chrome notifications. You won't be able to respond to them from the pop up though you have to use the messages page to reply. Hope that helps
