Android Users react to iPhone 15 finally getting USB-C

After a long awaited time and many pushes from the EU, Apple has finally decided to put USB Type C to their iPhone line-up. You might think that is very good news, but there's always a catch with Apple nowadays. The standard iPhone 15 line-up comes equipped with only USB 2.0 transfer speeds, which are nowhere near what the android phones are capable today. That's why I made this short meme showing how Android users reacted to finding out that iPhone 15 has only USB 2.0 with transfer speeds up to 480 mb per second.

@@AKDHFR There are different standards. Apple's phones outside of the pro model have USB 2.0 which is literally 23 years old. Whereas something like the Galaxy S23 or Pixel 7 both have USB 3.2 that is quite literally over 10 times faster

What bothers me the most ist that you can't save your Backup locally. I thought with the pro models you can Do the Backup faster but when you save it via iTunes you still need 1,5h for the update because it saves every time every single time.

Not an Apple fan by even a bit, but I see this transition as a good thing. Unification is always a better way to engineer things, and type-C is a fairly abundant cable, so now it doesn’t matter what kind of phone do you have, most likely someone will have a charger for you.

Apple invented the modern smartphone and pioneered most of what is considered standard on phones today. There's a reason why they lead in sales by so much. Their products are simply better to use. Their chips perform better. Period. Unless you're a tech nerd that likes to tinker with your device and you don't give a damn about security, there's no good reason to get an android phone

(considering I didn’t charge it that night) Anyway I usually do charge it when I sleep, so why tf would I need a different cable for. And also wtf they talking about getting faster downloads with a cable ? I download everything on the App Store which takes like 2 seconds… No reason why these android npcs are making this big of a deal out of this.

@@master-oh6zn I use iPhone and I hate this. I prefer durability over bandwidth on a phone since it needs to be plugged in and unplugged atleast once a day. usb c is just less durable than lightning. The wafer in the middle is far more fragile than the cavity from the lightning connector. Not to mention, I already have the lightning connectors. There is literally no use for it now and I have to throw all lightning accessories away. For more e-waste from this than just keeping the lightning port. The worst part of this is that some random government from a different continent is dictating what my devices can and cannot have. The legislation is far too specific. It should be left up to engineers to do it and not random lawmakers who just want brownie points

It was weird cause their iMacs went completely USB-C connector based, no other poets, and their iPad Pro had USB-C as well, you'd think theyd unify their range to simplify cables and everything else which wss rhe whole point of USB-C. But no, Apple design seems to always fragment by having their execs say "oh no you can't put the new feature on the base model stuff yet, only put it on the higher end stuff to encourage upselling".

These are things my "I'm poor" Android for 128 USD has had for years, except my transfer speed on my USB-C connection is actually faster. In comparison in Denmark, the cheapest I can find Apple 15(non-pro cheap version) is 1.114 USD. Both are converted from DKK to USD via Google so you may be able to get both phones cheaper in the US due to Danish tax being somewhat high. Apple customers are really just taking it from Apple huh...

I switched from Android to iphone about a year and a half ago and I greatly regret it. I did it because I noticed iphone users having faster, more powerful OS than me. That margin between android and iphone OS speed has really narrowed, though. I miss the freedom of android. Lifetime Apple users dont realize how restricted and limited their experience is. Google behaves poorly on Apple (on purpose- to try to get you to use Safari, itunes, etc), battery life is a joke, and I absolutely hate how the settings are displayed. I'm in too deep, now but damn do I miss my Samsung.
