exactly right...... an interception is usually a gift from your opponent but not a real necessity on a CBs resume.

That's not even the best part. It's his hard-nosed brand of football....and physicality. He actually reminds me of a young Adoree Jackson. And even Jackson was just avg last yr and injury prone....he's mostly been a rock solid CB when on the field.

AS a UK season ticket holder and Giants fan, I have seen this young man play the past 3 seasons. He has continued to improve every year. Best ball is still ahead of him. Reason for no INTs is simple. Ball was not thrown his way too often. And when it was, he made the play more times than not.

Plays through the whistle. Solid play recognition. Coaches are going to like Phillips. Nice pickup with Nubin, Giants secondary is going to be a problem. Giants defense coming together real nice.

He actually has a pretty even snap count slot vs outside so they can move him around a bit. If he's a slot corner we still would need another outside corner, unless Giants are high on Hawkins or Flott to play outside.
