ANDY BICHEL - 20/7 one of the best bowling spell in the World Cup

Andy Bichel is one of the unluckiest bowler in the cricket I have ever seen.He was one of Australia’s finest seamers who found himself on the fringes for a considerable period owing to stiff competition at the time. A stand-by bowler to the likes of Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie and Brett Lee, Bichel stole the spotlight during the 2003 World Cup with rip-roaring performances in both departments of the game.

He gave up playing in a shield final to be 12th man for Australia. That's the kind of player you want in your side. Would have taken 300test wickets at another time.Hard to replace McGrath and Gillespie.

Fine bowler. He was unlucky to have been at his peak while McGrath, Lee and Gillespie were all in form, as it meant he would get few opportunities. But whenever his opportunities came, he tended to grasp them. Great bowler and played some crucial innings with the bat.

One of the reasons that Aussie team was so powerful. This was the incredibly high standard that was constantly waiting to take your place if you didnt perform. World class bowler who could scare the shit out of world class bats with the new ball, then be called on to bowl 12 straight overs into the wind if needed. Big heart. Plus a very solid first class bat coming in around # 6to8. Almost the complete cricketer. When in form he was a very scary proposition with a new ball for Queensland.
