Saw Andy at XOYO last month - on a Sunday night. Never seen the place so rammed. He bust the system for 10 mins when he rolled out Babylon / Splash. Wicked night.
Andy, i love a wide range of music, from Bach to Michael Jackson to Pink Floyd and everything in between, but nothing has given me more listening pleasure over the years than your sets. Be that in the rave, the peerless Nightlife series, or recordings of you playing out. To make it better, you are a local boy come good!! (I'm from Romford). Massive respect and thanks man!!!
Same: I love everything from the Beach Boys, Brian eno, freak folk old country and everything in between: But for the past 15 years nothing gives me so much cerebral pleasure as strapping on some good headphones and listening to an Andy C set (or one of the nightlife mixes)
@@samh8525 I used to be a regular at fabric during the Ram residency in 2012. The night I saw Andy C throw down for 6 hours was one of the best nights ever ☺️
Chris 1983 what are you talking about? Firstly my statement was just pointing out that doing stuff that makes you happy has never been more important with what’s going on...also this mix is not ‘commercial in the slightest’. Although andy c made a few commercial tunes and (I have to put my hand up and say I wasn’t a fan) his Xoyo gigs proved he is still the king. Also if you really love the music you know where to look still...you obviously haven’t been to a metalheadz or critical sound night in last 5 years. Yes there is lots of shit dnb out there but still an insane amount of good stuff.
Your set in ATL absolutely changed my wife from a casual dNb listener back into the full-on fanatic I met 20 years ago and I couldn't thank you enough for it!!
I actually didn’t go. Took one for the team and let my wife go with friends while I stayed with the kids. Can’t remember where it was, but it wasn’t the masquerade.
I'd happily pay for these sets if they were available anywhere. Suppose it gets awkward with licensing all the tunes? Take my money all the same. XOYO residency box set!
i remember getting one of the dreamscape tape packs on a trip to the uk it had 6 tapes in a folder, we called it the bible!! dj hype n gq dougal n majika recently found these sets on good ole youtube and sent to my pals fantastic days, nights ,days 😂😂
Literally reminds me of me what I would have progressed to a bit later, if I didn't stop doing it in about 2009 like a pleb :P .. I was just mastering fast mixes on 2 decks, and playing around learning beat juggling and scratching, and about to learn 3 deck mixing when I stopped.. A year or two later I would have been doing my turnablism a bunch more, and mashing out the big mixes wicked selection on 3 decks.. Was looking at getting traktor scratch back then.. I kind of feel bad for the people who went through the transition from vinyl to CD's .. Eww CD's :D:D For some reason I chose being a pot head over keeping my decks and doing big mixes with wicked selection, flow, vibe.. Andy has that ear for wicked selection and which tracks to mix together because of connecting or similar sounds, or flow.. I guess it's something most can't do but it comes naturally to some
Some tracks Andy plays are wack but when he goes back to the 90,s and early 2000,s god damb he is heavyweight plus he still uses actual 1210,s cdj,s are not real djzs pure fake
